figured out a way to make it work.

-open in fire alpaca
-add new layer then move it under the linework
-color roughly underneath, using the magic wand to delete the excess 
-some cleanup 
-then i make the color white by boosting the brightness on the hue/saturation/brightness filter.
-i then saved it as an mdp file since i can then use the wand on the white layer to add designs/etc

Hey there! I use FireAlpaca, too! You can open and use PSD files and they will act like MDP files! Hope this makes things easier in the future. ^^
