A single modified cell, no shape, no species. Just a THINKING CELL.
Shuai Jan was admiring his creation, thinking about all the possibilities.
An organism that could be shaped at infinite forms. An organism whose evolution could be controlled.
He needs only the right choices.
O.G.R.E is a Over Genetically Reshaped Entity, an empty cell filled with DNA from different creatures.
He's able to control his fenotype, reshaping his body when he needs, becoming what he needs.
Crabs, Leechs, Starnosed Moles, Snails... Human
He hunts for bigger preys, to assimilate and evolve.
His objective is to search the strongest organism ever and assimilate him
As his genome grows, his ability to assimilate becomes less efficient.
He's now at a point where he needs to incorporate a whole organism to assimilate its DNA
His original genome was modified by Shaui Jan to make OGRE obey him.
This particular sequence is hidden in his DNA. If OGRE ever tries to modify it, he would also damage his omeostasys controller, killing himself.
No Organism was ever able to assimilate new genomes and control them like OGRE could.
This new gene is what Shuai Jan is looking for
He doesn't want a slave with that power... he wants the slave's Power for himself
NOTE: You may find in his power some similarities with The Thing (or "Who Goes There").
I started thinking about a literal basket, where Shuai Jan could waste the useless genomes.
But I prefer this.
