Description
I was really inspired by 's concept art ->She created it in a style similar to World of Warcraft and I fell in love with the concepts.
I chose the green sword in the middle to practice hand painted textures and modeling low poly weapons. I really liked the concept, so I modeled it (With permission of course
There's a few little areas where I painted differently then Tamara, I didn't want to copy her concept 100%. It was tricky to model too, given it had a lot of wonky shapes!
I'd love to weild this sword
I wanted to see what I could achieve with Diffuse only, if I was skilled enough to paint my own shadows and details. Think it turned out pretty well considering!
Still working on my 'templates' to go in behind my models..can't settle yet on a simple effective template. Hmm.
Enjoy my low poly model and FirstKeeper's concepts!
I'd classify this as fan-art, given it's using someone else's concepts even though it's game-ready.
Modeled in Maya 2011
Diffuse only 512x256 (looks fine at 256x128 as well)
Textured in Photoshop

Thank you!

The model is excellent! The texture bother me though. I'm not sure if it's the fact that it's a 512x256 or your painting but the texture looks very blurry and I feel like it misses the roughness of the original (and what made the original look so good). The blade suffers the most from this in my opinion. It doesn't look bad but I'm sure you could push this texture a lot farther than this!

You are 110% correct about the blurry...because I forgot a step before I rendered it XD silly me! I was so anxious to post it, I forgot to re-apply my layers. D'oh! thanks for catching that though!
