It had been a hard night’s work. Her target had been wily and charming, almost as much as she. She'd simpered, she'd bantered—hell, she'd even paid for his drink! She played her line well, and finally, with one more flick of her dark hair, he became wholly enraptured with her, just like every man before him.

He came home with her afterwards, and she tried not to shudder at the vacantly entranced eyes that had replaced their clever predecessors. When she bit down, he moaned, loving every moment of his death.

Left alone with his corpse, the lamia wept.
