My take on the morality alignment chart. Icons mostly come from my comics/pictures, except for Maud, Iron Will and Cozy that I drew specifically for this chart.
If you're confused why Cadance is the worst - here's Twilight's explanation -Β
Discord isn't really neutral. He leans towards the evil part, but is randomly helpful
As for Twilight - she's definitely chaotic - look up episodes like Lesson Zero, It's About Time, The Point of No Return for more details.
Cozy is the machiavellan type of a villain, hence lawful.
Fluttershy is rebel because of her animal affinity, as we remember, she kidnapped Celestia's pet
MLP and its characters belong to Hasbro.

Luna invades your subconscious and can control the tides with the moon. She keeps it with a full moon and with those weird behaviors and beliefs about that... Luna is more evil than Cadence.

Luna objectively helps with these "invasions" - she is like a police pony guarding from nightmares.
Cadence only forwards her own agenda of breeding ponies as much as possible with no respect for free will

Who oversees Luna's invasion? She could be snooping and silencing those who have different views than the Diarchy. She also could be assisting in making ponies compliant with Cadence's power and now Twilight's. Twilight's image being representative of Friendship by the tree is now saying those who are not willing to accept our doctrine will be met with Rainbow Purifying/Stoning/Mooning power.
Luna being somepony who used it and was hit by it would make it to where she would make any and all subjects who disagreed with the friendship is magic idea then gets to endure that torment under the guise of "guarding from the nightmare".

??? I know the traditional stuff, but I don't know what "moral", "impure", "social" and "rebel" is supposed to mean. The character choices aren't very good either. (Cadance is obviously a joke, but what is Chrysalis supposed to mean?)

it's rather intuitive. These descriptions are just in-between the neighboring ones. Like, rebel is between neutral and chaotic, i.e. not quite either of those.

I'll just leave it at I agree with some of these and disagree with others you are free to your own opinions of course, and I'll respect that as long as you respect mine. For example, I definitely agree with RD being in the Rebel column, I'm on the fence with Twilight that is I can see what you are saying, but I still have a hard time as the word chaotic has certain overtones that I don't associate with her adorkable nature, and I disagree with your choice for Fluttershy, as yeah she goofed up big time, but unless you are counting that rather OOC moment at the GGG or when Iron Will gave her faulty advice with no context (at least as far as she was concerned) I don't consider her a rebel at least in the traditional sense. I know the one comic with cadance is supposed to be funny, but I really didn't care for it, as I don't see her forcing love on others, she's not taking two people and saying you will romantically love each other or else, she's taking in my opinion something that was already there, and giving it a nudge, or "fixing" it in the case of the couple that were arguing. Even if love is nothing more than hormones based upon the primordial instinct to breed on a scientific level, looking at everything through that lens just leads to the "nothing actually matters I can do whatever I want because in the universal scheme I am dust" type mindset. is she the best character ever? no, and I will not pretend otherwise, but I will also not go for the "she is the basest evil" mindset either.

Most interesting. Some surprising ones there. The hyper-organised list freak Twilight, chaotic?
Also, I still think Maud deliberately helped Starlight take over Our Town as a field-test for her own schemes, and that someday, with the right rock, she intends to rule all Equestria.

Twilight is pretty chaotic throughout the series - look up Lesson Zero, It's About Time, The Point of No Return for her most chaotic behavior.
Then we have her decisions to make Starlight her pupil or huge objections against forgiving Trixie for much lesser crimes.

LrdZanny In reply to Mtm1194 [2019-05-08 19:42:11 +0000 UTC]
Early season Twilight was definitely lawful, but as time went on and she got OP princess power and privilege she has been gradually going against the grain for what she thinks is right - see her fighting the board of education or taking on Starlight as a pupil, etc.
Though given that basis Celestia should definitely be chaotic good - its not really fair if you write the laws you follow to call yourself lawful, and she constantly does things chaotically to teach lessons or just outright troll others.

Mtm1194 In reply to LrdZanny [2019-05-08 19:48:07 +0000 UTC]
I see your point and it makes sense, but for me Twilight has "lawful" written all over her. That's just my opinion. She spends her free time arranging her books, gets exchited over paperwork... Also, i would label Sombra as "Lawful evil" due to his militaristic schemes, but after seeing that he doesn't want to work with other villains, i'd say he is "Neutral evil". Finally, why in the world is Cadence "Chaotic evil " ?

Mtm1194 In reply to Pony-Berserker [2019-05-08 19:43:15 +0000 UTC]
Yes she had a few chaotic episodes here and there, but even those were in order to preserve her lawful nature, such as returning a book to the library.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
Pony-Berserker In reply to Mtm1194 [2019-05-08 19:46:07 +0000 UTC]
But then she cared mostly about the fine for keeping the book, so - selfish, i.e. chaotic... then suddenly she cared about the other pony ignoring the fine and not returningthe book - chaotic.
Or Lesson Zero where she tried to create a friendship problem? That's the opposite of lawful ;0
Or Amending Fences? What she did there was pretty chaotic too.

I just did and it makes total sense. Say, there's this theory about season 9 that Grogar created Discord and Discord wants the mane 6 to take on him because he is the only character who can actually destroy the lord of chaos. Do you agree ?

iowaguy1979 [2019-05-08 18:09:30 +0000 UTC]
Never seen much of the show, but Twilight is definitely Chaotic Good. Tries to do good things, but, mucks it up. Snips and Snails are Neutral Impure, because they seem to cause a lot of trouble, and are very much in the background. Yeah, Candace is Chaotic Evil, for forcing ponies into relationships via hormones. Also, Twilight could easily be VERY Rick Sanchez-esque. Great job!
