thanks, those arent at the aquarium anymore. they were replaced by a different species.

they were removed about 3-4 months ago. the old ones laid eggs and died, this is normal for cephalopods.

its a reef cuttlefish, the largest of the cuttlefish thats why its so big.

yup its squishy, it has no bones, and his primary skeletal structure is a porous piece of cartilage

its a cuttlefish its in the same family as the squid, the main difference between squids and cuttlefish is the fin structure. Cuttlefish have a fun that goes around the entire body whereas squid donβt.
But both squid and cuttlefish do have a hard structure in their body which they use for buoyancy, its called a cuttle bone and is porous.
Nitrogen is removed from the blood of these animals which increases buoyancy and is trapped within the structure.
