Just a note on the visual side, it might do just as well or even better without the background colour, because not always would that incorporate with a Firefox theme. Or, come to think of it... how about customizable colours? Mmmm.

For some reason it isn't showing replies, only devs and Journals (I haven't gotten comments since installing). Is this something that has been reported by anyone else?

one - possibly stupid - question... if i let this add-on automaticly check messages every 60 seconds, it will look like i am never offline, right? since checking your messages counts as being active...

Yes, you're right, it will appear as you're never offline. You'll appear as off-line only when you're browser is not running. Hope this is not such a big inconvenience

I like the idea, but is this supposed to work with the new message centre? I see you are checking http://backend.deviantart.com/xml/messages.xml for the messages, and use the old names, like F and HD. I don't think it uses that page to get the messages anymore.
Also, it doesn't seem to see that I'm logged in. Both with the automatic login and letting me log in from the browser. The status just says Error: Invalid deviant name/password: 3
But it would be great if you could get it working

I've contacted lolly for the backend issue, but I didn't received an answer yet. When I'll get the new page, I'll put it up 
That error says that the username of password specified in the auto-login is wrong, but not necessary. I noticed just today that when the site is in read-only mode the auto-login fails (obviously!) and also after first entering the auto-login informations, it will fail the first time (just press 'Check now' again). So it might of been that. Try now, it should work. If it still doesn't, re-enter the deviant name and password and try again.

Isn't there a way to grab it from the abbr of the message centre link on dA pages? Seems that would be the easiest, but I don't know much about coding. I think someone mentioned that to `bluespeed9 for his deviantMessage script, which did about the same thing as this script.
