Description I just created this stamp in awareness of the new favourites FairExposure system that DeviantArt launched late last week.

The FairExposure system is where people are finally getting their chance of achieving their popularity and there are a lot of ways how to approach it.

I'm pretty sure that dA will improve with this new system whatever you like it or not.

Show your support for the FairExposure system and if you want to see it improved in the near future.

If you are a subscriber, you can put this in your journal or shoutboard by using : thumb77299089 : somewhere in the field.

Do NOT hotlink this stamp to your journals, shoutboard, webcam or anywhere on a non-DeviantArt website.

Stamp template (c) 2005 ~deviantStamps and $liquisoft .

Stamp template can be found here .

The FairExposure stamp was done on Paint Shop Pro 7 using two stars extracted from one of the Love and Respect animation frames.

I'm very unintelligent and I need help because I only see what it doesn't use as a measure, rather than what it does use lol

If you don't understand what FairExposure is, you'll never know. Try reading up on this news article: [link]

If you want to have someone to explain this to you what FairExposure means to you, I can do that.

I need your help with this.
this is my friends pic [link]
this is my pic [link]

our views to favs ratio match. it's in the same category. it has the same tag.
Yet when you search for BBW, his shows up front and center.
i think the formula depends on category. ex: scraps vs digital painting
then i think the formula depends on the fav's to views ratio.
i don't think comments have anything to do with it, nor downloads.
i'm a lucky guy, but i'm not smart and could really use your help!

ppgrainbow In reply to CulturalTaboo [2010-01-12 04:00:21 +0000 UTC]

The FairExposure formula depends on the favs-to-views ratio, not comments. I'll need to check to $mccann for more information on this matter.

Any further discussion regarding the issue needs to be taken to notes.

I highly agree. It's nice seeing other different beautiful art on the front page rather than the stick figure comics or the anatomically incorrect shiney pieces. Besides even if they don't get the front page, it doesn't mean that they aren't getting recognition.

Doxeh [2008-02-29 03:05:34 +0000 UTC]

I don't agree with FairExposure, and I think that there are undernoticed, yet incredibly talented anime artists that have it even worse off with this new concept.
I have my own opinion/solution, but it's a tad complicated.

However, I strongly disagree with the popular artists bitching and moaning about it.
They're still gonna be in the popular section.
They're still gonna get thousands of faves.
I don't see why they have to complain as if they're no longer getting the recognition they deserve because "FairExposure" takes it away.
And it's not like a lot of fanartists have tons of artistic talent in all fields.
I sure as hell don't.

If anything, us undernoticed, underdog fanartists should be the ones bitching and moaning.
Or the styles of art that don't make it at all, regardless of Fair Exposure or not.

That's my personal opinion.
Feel free to flame

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-02-29 08:57:10 +0000 UTC]

The FairExposure system still has flaws that should be corrected. People have every right to complain about how it works.

If they complain to a point where they would want to leave dA, because they're not getting the fair exposure, that's their problem.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doxeh In reply to ppgrainbow [2008-02-29 13:34:01 +0000 UTC]

True, true.
I see your point

Who knows what'll happen?
We just have to wait and see.

Now /that/ is just overreacting.

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-02-29 14:05:29 +0000 UTC]

I'm with you on this one. Hopefully, the FairExposure system will improve someday. But it'll take a lot of time and research.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doxeh In reply to ppgrainbow [2008-02-29 21:09:33 +0000 UTC]

Exactly.

In all honesty, I don't think anyone should be bitching about it when it's so early in it's stages.

I will admit, I did bitch about it, but that was before I sat down, and really thought the situation through.
I was ignorant, and merely following what the popular artists said.
Now, I've formulated my own opinion, and think that everyone should just chillax and let the mods do their thing

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-02-29 22:10:25 +0000 UTC]

That would be a very good idea!

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-02-29 22:40:27 +0000 UTC]

I agree. dA personally doesn't need people jumping to conclusions when they don't know the whole story.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doxeh In reply to ppgrainbow [2008-02-29 23:07:56 +0000 UTC]

I know.
I wonder how swamped the mods must have been with all the people bitching and moaning at them

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-02-29 23:10:25 +0000 UTC]

Well...the admins are just trying to fix the FairExposure system to a point where people are satisfied and receive a fair-share of how their popularity is exposed on dA.

So...
What's your favorite style of art?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-03-01 09:02:58 +0000 UTC]

My favourite style of artwork is anime and realism.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doxeh In reply to ppgrainbow [2008-03-01 16:23:35 +0000 UTC]

OMG, you like realism?
My two really good friends draw different kinds of realism that I think you should seriously check out.

- She recently started drawing more realistic pictures. She used to draw more chibi and anime, but I think the realism suits her better. Her specialty is dragons, and I love her artwork!

- One of the best realistic artists I've ever seen. Definitely worth a look through her page.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-03-05 00:41:34 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow! These two artists are so awesome at realism! I'll check out their pages in a few days or so.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doxeh In reply to ppgrainbow [2008-03-05 00:48:27 +0000 UTC]

Alright!
They'd be really grateful if you checked them out, as would I.
It's definitely worth your time

I also draw anime, but I draw very simply, and stick to comics and satire.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-03-05 01:09:14 +0000 UTC]

Hehe. Yeah, it's worth it! ^_^

I tried drawing anime a few years back and I sucked at it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doxeh In reply to ppgrainbow [2008-03-05 02:48:12 +0000 UTC]

I draw more chibi.
I guess I can draw actual anime, but I can't shade it to save a life XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-03-05 07:28:11 +0000 UTC]

I agree. Out of the nearly 6.6 million users, not all artists are good, ya know.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doxeh In reply to ppgrainbow [2008-03-05 13:18:57 +0000 UTC]

I know.
But many of the ones that are good go largely unnoticed by all the fanartists.
Like my two friends XD.

But I'm honestly very pro-fanart.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to Doxeh [2008-03-05 15:16:13 +0000 UTC]

Me too! A lot of artists have been unnoticed for a while. They can be discovered by getting their art featured in their journal or a news article.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

neekko [2008-02-25 01:01:52 +0000 UTC]

I still don't quite understand how the new system works, but I support the concept. There are so many great artists out there whom people flat-out ignore and it seems like they're finally getting a chance to be seen. I also find it ironic how many of the "popular" deviants are the ones bitching about it. Showing their true colors.

Anyway, great stamp. I've put it in my journal.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ppgrainbow In reply to neekko [2008-02-29 09:06:39 +0000 UTC]
