Rival and Typhon have a very skewed relationship. Because Typhon has beat Rival in more fights/challenges and has not wavered under Rival's great power and threats, Rival resents him in a way. He constantly tries getting under Ty's skin with insults and negative criticism, unfortunately to no effect as Ty has gotten used to it, seeing at his way of showing affection. In fact he sees Rival as a good friend, much to his chagrin. Though they do work together more often than Rival would like.

Emery and Typhon have a good reliable relationship. While Rival was Ty's first interaction in Page, Emery would be his first good interaction. Her helpfulness and encyclopedia-like memory are used to great effect in helping Typhon who has no clue on the inner workings of the city. While Ty relies on her quite a bit, they are good friends and hang out often. It is not uncommon for Ty to help Emery out in her errands. Additionally, Emery also helps Ty by giving him places where part-time work is available.

Emery and Rival have a very rough relationship. Their only linking factor to date is Typhon. The relationship is reactive- Rival demeans Typhon, Emery comes to his defense, and they argue over him. Emery is also victim to Rival's demeaning and bullying. Emery at most tolerates him and wonders just what Ty sees in him. While they are not on good terms, when the situation needs it they can begrudgingly work together.

Rival and Typhon fight a lot. At the beginning Rival was a major threat, but due to getting used to Rival's attack patterns he could work around it to win more. Pissed, Rival resentfully began to smarten up, evening out their record somewhat. Even then it skews to Typhon's favor, and Rival will not stop going after him until he he has properly established his dominance over him, or so he says. Emery is powerless so she usually spectate their chaotic fights, cheering Ty on the entire time while calling out Rival's underhandedness.
