Else's story so far:
Born and raised at Stall Polarlys, she was quickly immersed into equestrian sport. She started out taking part in harness racing and pony racing, but discovered show jumping when she was 10. In her fathers words: "her alliances changed." Her racing ponies were re-trained and she started competing in shows. After attending the national equestrian centers school, she was hired as a rider at Birkenhof Reitzentrum in Germany. There she met her husband Otto. When they got the opportunity to take over the stable at her childhood home, they moved to Norway together. Together they settled down to start their family and business. Else retired from competing fairly early to raise her children and run the business at Polarlys, feeling more at home behind the scenes than in the arena. She still rides her retired Thoroughbred mare Calanon, but otherwise she only engages in ownership of the horses her husband sees fit for their business.
