Description
Grimmen trotted forward in a marching tempo, in as close to perfect form they could get at the moment. They were really getting somewhere with all the work they had both done since the previous year. He still made the occasional buck and rear, spooking at nothing in particular when he didn't feel like working out, but aside from that, he was amazing. Astrid has admittedly been very close to believing what others had been saying about him on the worst days. But then there were the good days, and those times he was acting like a fully professional eventing horse.
Now she was glad she had stood her ground and been stubborn. She was positive that she had never connected like this with her previous horses. Not even Alice, or even her first pony. Nothing was as giving as when Grimmen greeted her, and came galloping to her when she called him.

During all this she had also taken in Emil. She had received a phone-call from the child protective services and the next morning he had been in her home. Balancing her responsibilities at that time had been challenging. Andreas had taken care of Grimmen the first week, which had gone almost well. Until the very last day when he was thrown off and broke his wrist. But being him, he took it with a smile and offered to at least lunge him until she had time herself, which she had declined before he had finished the sentence.

But now, several months later, they were just a couple days away from loading the trailer and heading off to Sweden. She was both nervous and excited, having absolutely no idea how Grimmen would behave. They would just have to cross their fingers and hope for the best. Routine settled him, so everything would be as normal as it possibly could.
