"Alright mom." Ouka said before yawning and telling Ruby to follow her out. Ruby stayed close to her sibling. Clearly, the little girl was still trembling. She kept looking behind her at her brother who was being worked on. When she smelled more blood, she flinched and ran into her sister. She had bumped into Ouka causing her to fall on her bottom. Ouka sighed seeming very agitated and picked up Ruby. She walked over to the porch and called out to Alex telling him that Wolfina needed him. It was all Ouka said before walking away, not wanting to speak with the incubus what so ever.

      As Ouka passed by her room, she noticed Ruby was fast asleep. The young girl was too tired to walk down the hall some more, instead, the elder wolf decided that she would sleep with her little sister for the night.

      The brown haired girl awoke to a certain smell, she recognized the smell, but she knew she wasn't in her room. She slowly opened her eyes, only to see a powdery blue ceiling. The little brown haired girl sat up slowly, looking at the deep blue blanket she was covered by. "Am I in Ouka-neechan's room?" Ruby wondered aloud. She looked around before hopping of her sister's bed. The cedar white wood floor and bright blue rug in front of the bed confirmed Ruby's location: Ouka's room.

      Looking around, the little girl trotted over to the door before opening it. Ruby began heading down the hall. The young wolf pup, then heard a beeping noise as she passed her brother's room; this startled her. Curious she reached up, turned the knob on the door, and pushed it open. She walked inside and immediately frowned at what she saw: Silver breathing from an oxygen mask and hooked to a monitor and IV.

      "He looks like he's in the place where sick people go…" Ruby thought aloud, sounding very sad. She slowly approached her seemingly unconscious brother.
      "Ruby? What are you doing in here sweetie?" Ruby jumped and turned around; the girl was clearly caught off guard, and badly startled as a result.

      "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to scare you."
      "I-I'm fine mommy… Um, why is Silver asleep like that? He looks like he is in that place where people go when they're sick 'cause of that doctor stuff."
      "Well Ruby, Silver got very sick yesterday, and mommy couldn't take him to her job because it was very late. So mommy set up a, remember this word sweetie, hospital room, in Silver's room."

      "Oh, okay mommy."

      "Well come to the kitchen for breakfast, Alex stayed over night because he was worried about Riho, and Ouka doesn't exactly approve of it. However, I'm sure that if her little sister was there to brighten up the room she may stop glaring at Alex."

      "Okay. Um, Mommy? Why does Ouka hate Mr. Alex?"  The young pup inquired as she looked up at her mother with curiosity. Wolfina sighed heavily at the question "I don't know Ruby, Ouka was like that since she was very little."

      "Oh, Okay." Ruby said following behind her mother. Although she said otherwise, Wolfina did know the reason why Ouka hated Alex so much. However, she simply didn't want her daughter to know just yet.

      "Why don't you just leave?! We can take care of her just fine! You don't need to be here! You are unnecessary here old man!" Ouka screamed at the maroon haired male sitting across from her. The male simply ignored the child and continued eating his breakfast. Ouka became enraged; she grabbed a fruit knife and threw it at Alex as if it were a dagger.  Alex took a sip of his coffee; as the knife flew towards him, the incubus simply raised his left arm slightly and caught the knife in between his index and middle finger.

      "H-how did you--?!"
      "Ouka, I'm more than sure Riho taught you that. Now, who do you think taught Riho how to do it? Come now, I may have not been around to raise Riho for eight years of her life, but I was there for four, and that was when I taught her how to throw daggers. Did you really think I wouldn't have learned from a past mistake?" Alex put his coffee down before showing Ouka a scar on his right hand, "I learned from my mistake, Riho had already began hating me since she was three, I  left to  keep the kingdom under control and she hated me for it because your mother  was very sick when I left."
      "Then why did you leave my brother alone to take care of mom?!"
      "I had to, or a war would have broken out between the two clans, and what's worse they may have come to InuNeko. The vampires may come here for blood, and the succubi and incubi may come for men and woman to steal souls from."
      "You couldn't have made sure mom wasn't near death before you left?! Silver said mom was really sick! Silver had to go into the mountains and he came back with a broken arm! Riho had to go and find help but as you know, no one in his village accepts her! So she had to go on her own and find Miss Clarice! Which, luckily she lives close by!"

      "Listen you, if I hadn't left then none of you would even be alive--"

      "That's enough Alex! Ouka, serve yourself what you are going to eat and take it to your room!"  Wolfina cried as she walked in on the argument. The silver haired wolf girl angrily got out of her chair and did as told. Ruby felt strange to walk into the tension filled kitchen. She went up to the empty chair that Ouka left and climbed onto it. The girl's mother put a plate of pancakes in front of her along with a tall glass of milk.

      After breakfast Ruby ran down the hall to go see her brother. Once at the doorway of the room, the little girl tried tiptoeing inside to avoid waking her brother. She sat on the light grey carpet and gave a light sigh while staring up at her brother. "I wonder how long Oniichan will be sleeping …" Ruby wondered quietly. She was suddenly startled by her elder brother groaning in pain. The wolf immediately got up and stood next to the bed, looking at her brother; Silver was starting to open his eyes. "Oniichan..?" The brown haired girl whispered quietly. Upon hearing his name, the black haired wolf turned his head slightly to look at his sister; he smiled weakly at her before shutting his eyes and letting out a sharp breath, the boy was obviously in pain. "Oniichan! D-don't move! I'll go get mom!" before the girl could leave however her hand was grabbed by her elder brother. "Riho …is her okay--" Silver coughed hard through the oxygen mask. Ruby's ears drooped; it appeared that neither she nor her brother knew anything about Riho. "I'll go get mom Oniichan, then I'll go see Riho. Okay?" Ruby smiled weakly. She ran out of the room and shouted at her mother, "Mommy! Silver is awake and he's coughing!" After hearing her mother push chairs   away she assumed she was coming and ran to the stairs to go see Riho.
