"Alright, I think its okay to call Ouka in here." Alex spoke quietly. The cat eared boy nodded and went to bring Ouka.Ouka walked into the room Hibiki following behind her. She looked down at the supplies provided. She frowned when seeing the blackish brown gunk on Silver's wound. "Hibiki, mom didn't give me any water to clean his wound with, and as much I don't want to, I have to ask you to bring me a bucket of water" The addressed male nodded and walked out of the den to fetch a bucket of water. Ouka continued to frown at the gunk on her brother's shoulder. "With all this dirt it's hard to tell how serious the wound is … it could be very big or all the blood that spilled, dirt must have gotten stuck on it." The silver haired girl sighed heavily not knowing what to do.
After a few minutes, Hibiki entered the den holding a bucket of water. Hibiki gently placed it beside Ouka, "Thank you." Ouka muttered before grabbing a white cloth from the neat pile of supplies provided by her mother, and dipping it in the cool water. The wolf eared girl then began to gently dab at the wound, a displeased expression on her face as she noticed the cloth was being soiled by both blood and dirt. "Ugh, the dirt is caked in blood and it making it hard to wipe off … at this rate I'll never finish cleaning Silver's wound … and judging by the redness around the wound … I'm assuming its getting infected…" Ouka seemed upset as she continued trying to cleanse her brother's wound.
"What about the alcohol? Even if you're afraid to hurt silver, I'm sure that disinfecting the wound would help would it?"
"I don't know Hibiki… I'm scared because pain may agitate Silver… I know when Ruby's sick, pain makes her fevers spike."
"Just try it, its better to get that dirt out and treat his sickness later than to leave it in there and he could only get worse! I don't know a lot about medicine, but I'm pretty sure my mom always told me that if I didn't get dirt out of my cuts and scrapes they would only get worse! So just clean it up Ouka!"
"Don't yell at me! Stupid male cat! You have no right to yell at me!"
"Well then take care of your brother already! Clean his wounds and just treat him! I bet he's gotta be in horrible pain!"
"I said stop yelling at me you stupid worthless male!" Suddenly, Ouka being aggravated as she was slapped Hibiki across the face with the wet towel. The cat eared boy rubbed his face and glared at the silver haired girl, knowing very well he couldn't hit her back seeing as how she was an eight year old. Ouka was growling as she continued to clean Silver's wound.
"Hibiki, why don't we go outside to the front porch? I think this little girl will be in a fit of rage for a while, she normally doesn't get angry this easily, so if we leave maybe she will calm down and work properly." Alex whispered to the cat. He nodded and followed Alex out. Even though Ouka heard the conversation, she did begin to calm down once the males exited the room.
Once calm at last, Ouka grabbed the bottle of alcohol and another clean washcloth; she poured alcohol onto the cloth then began gently cleaning the wound. The silver haired wolf could feel her brother flinching, wincing, and squirming from the pain despite Silver being unconscious. Ouka continued cleaning until it was finally clean enough to allow the girl to see the size of the wound at last. The size worried her, but she decided to just bandage him up and let her mother know that her brother needed stitches.
As Ouka picked up the bottle of alcohol and began to pour some on the cloth, she heard a high-pitched scream causing her to drop the bottle on her brother, spilling most of the bottle on the wound. The silver haired girl turned angrily, knowing who screamed. Before she could yell at the culprit however, she was stopped by the view of the little girl before her, trembling and crying at the sight of her brother covered in blood.
Ouka turned away from her and attempted to clean off the excess alcohol. She decided it was not a good idea to yell at a Hemophobic four year old, for simply screaming and being frightened by the sight of blood. Ruby seemed very pale and about to faint.
"W-What happened to Oniichan? I-is he d-dead?" The girl asked trembling violently.
"He'll be fine Ruby, he's just bleeding." Ouka said trying to sound truthful. The elder sibling knew that the younger girl could see the wound and more than likely thought it was fatal one, hence the reason she was trembling so badly. Ouka knew that Ruby's fear of blood only made her tremble this badly if it was family that was wounded.
"Don't worry Ruby, He just needs stitches. He'll be fine after."
The girl being called out to nodded but continued staring at her brother. Eventually, the frightened girl began slowly approaching her elder siblings. She knelt down at his side; opposite of Ouka.
"D-didn't mommy teach you healing magic, Ouka neechan?" Ruby stuttered, trying her best to calm down. The wolf in question shook her head seeming ashamed of herself. "No… I've learned many herbal remedies from mom… I've learned many things from mom … but she could never teach me healing magic… that's something I could never learn…" Ouka's ears drooped; she was clearly sad about being unable to learn something that should have been easy for a smart girl like her to learn.
Ruby placed one of her tiny hands on her brother's arm.
"Oniichan … please don't die…"
Upon finishing her sentence, Ruby's mother came into the room from the basement, Clarice following behind her.
"We patched up Riho, Clair here, stitched her up while I crushed as many herbs as I could and applied the paste after Clair expertly stitched Riho's wound."
"Oh stop Wolfina, you're embarrassing me. You did clean out the dust and dirt on her and gave her a fever reducer"
"Ah, but you did a wonderful job patching up my daughter."
"Yes mom I know Miss Clarice is as wonderful with medicine as you are. However, I need you guys to stitch up Silver."
"Alright then, but please ask Alex to carry Riho up to her room Ouka, and put Ruby to bed, she looks exhausted"
