About the piece-

this is an etching that i did as my disgust at make up.people cover them selves in all kind of products they pour over them selves which only blur and smudge after time.....whats the point.......creating a mask for yourself to face the world is not for me.

the process was a kind of mistake really....i did a few ordinary prints then decided to experiment by using different coloured inked scrims to wipe away the excess.
rather than smoothing away the ink in the correct way i decided to see what it would look like with circular streaks and in my mind this image expresses my idea better than the original proper printed way of doing things.

This is great. It calls to mind a piece of art in an exhibition at the tate a few years ago - Abracadabra. I can't remember the name of the artist though.
I completely agree with your sentiments about makeup, and I think that it translates really well the way you've done it.
