I like this one best in the emil series. Although it was a close race with "emil in the magic field", which also is a beautiful photograph, but I landed on this one because of a more unique composition. Cause it really is unique. And pretty. And special. You're an expert in focusing, so that's all perfect. His eye (to our right) is sparkelig! I also like the lighting. It lights up both his face and hair beautifully, but leaves his other eye fairly dark compared to the other. This creates contrast and more excitement to the photo.
You've captured the innocence and joy of being a child.
