"I want to get to know you""Okay, doctor. I'm angry. I'm immature. I'm filled with hate because I can't trust people."
"You can trust me."
"You're a woman."
"You're point?"
"Exactly. You only want to get to know me so you can use my weaknesses against me."
"I want to get to know you because, underneath all of this anger is a good person. I want to know that person underneath."
"Many people have said the same thing. You're all the same. For whatever reason, you just want to see me fall."
"I don't want that, but tell me about those people. Surely there had to be some positive people in your life."
"I wish."
"It was a woman, wasn't it? A woman that you thought was trustworthy. She was the positive type, and you found that attractive."
"That turned out to be a lie; a trick."
"And you couldn't see it until the very end."
"Well, you're wrong about that, doc. I saw it coming a mile away. I confronted her, asked her many times who she was seeing behind my back. She gave some very valid excuses and bought herself some time. But through her lies that I wanted to believe, part of me saw the truth. I hacked her accounts and read the messages. I got the truth for myself."
"That was a very bold move. You invaded her privacy."
"I deserved the truth. She didn't give it to me. That just shows the respect she had for me."
"But, you disrespected her as she did to you. What does that say about your character?"
"Doc, you can scribble whatever of my flaws you want on your clipboard. I don't care. Just spare me the speech of how wrong I am and how right she was."
"I didn't say she was right. But, I don't think you believe that you were wrong in what you did. You should try seeing things from her perspective."
"I'm a guy. I can't do anything right. Ask any woman I've known, they'll say the same thing. You wanted to get to know the guy underneath the anger. You'll just have to accept that I'm wrong all the time. I've accepted it."
"Fine. Let's deal with this negative energy. I'm going to tell you what I think about you, and then you tell me what you think about me."
"Kay."
"I think you're one of the most genuine guys I've seen. Most of the guys that cross my path just want to jump my bones or talk about sex, but you're different. I can say anything to you and feel comfortable."
"I usually warn women against guys that I know to be creeps, just as a courtesy. One in particular. The guy I found messaging my ex. Chances are, he's crossed your path."
"Oh really? What's his name?"
"How about you get back on the topic of that pesky negativity. Stop trying to dig up dirt on me and sell me out."
"What makes you think I'd do that?"
"You're a woman."
"Are you always this sexist?"
"Yes."
"I'll make you a deal. You tell me your ex's name and his name, and I'll walk away and leave you alone. I know that's what you want."
"And why, pray tell, would I be so stupid as to give you the names of the two people that I hate more than anyone else in humanity when I can just walk away right now?"
"Get it off your chest. You're dying to tell someone. Don't worry, you can trust me."
"I'll tell you his name since I know he has crossed your path and I think you should know when you have a predator in your midst. Then I'm walking away and informing my attorney to expect some drama."
"Fair enough."
"His last name is Jones."
"You're right. He has crossed my path. I'll be asking him about these claims you're making."
"You really think he'll tell the truth?"
"I'm sure he'll deny all the horrible stuff you've mentioned. But I want to hear both sides of the story. And he has the right to know that you're telling people that he's a predator. I'm also certain that, if he is what you say he is, he'll know your ex's first and last name. I'll be talking to her as well."
"Well, I can't stop you. This is what I get for trusting you. I can't say I didn't see it coming. That whole "deal with negativity" thing almost had me fooled."
"This isn't a betrayal of trust. This is an act of justice."
"I'm still wondering when I'm going to get my justice. You women are all the same. Spouting off how I should see things from HER point of view and try to understand how SHE feels. She cheated on me. I feel no shame. No sympathy. SHE can enjoy those herpes. And you..."
"Yes?"
"Karma will come after you, with a vengeance."
