OK so this is the reasonable version; how it started out. I'm terrified of stairs, and, if you don't know already, I really want to go to Nara Dreamland (an abandoned theme park) someday.
In Dreamland, there is a wooden roller coaster called Aska, which was the main attraction when it was still open. Many people who go there today to explore, take photos, etc., will climb it. Since I want to go, I want to climb it. So whenever I encounter stairs and hesitate, I always tell myself "DO YOU WANT TO CLIMB ASKA??" and then move forward. The stupid part is here .
