Description
The arapaima is actually and old exhibit to the historic aquarium. Arapaimas are native to the amazon river in South America, they are said to have been a living fossil fish from as early as the jurassic period. The arapaima can grow up to 7 feet long and have very bright colored tail fins. Unlike other fish, the arapaima is an air breathing fish.
