Description: The Lystrosaurus is a widespread genus of Dicynodont that lived from the Late Permian to the Early Triassic periods, multiple species of Lystrosaurus are known around the world, once we thought there was 23 different species, but now we have narrowed it down to only 5 Lystrosaurus species in the genus. This small, heavily built therapsid ranged in size depending on the species, some were only around the size of a small dog, others can be up to 8 feet in length, all sharing the same physical features, a horny beak with only 2 tusk-like canine teeth, a semi-sprawling gait for locomotion, and robust forelimbs that were believed to be used for digging. One of the most incredible features of the Lystrosaurus is not the structure of its body, but its ability to survive the Permian-Triassic extinction event, also known as the Great Dying, scientists hypothesize theories on how the Lystrosaurus was capable of surviving the greatest extinction event on Earth to be able to thrive in the Triassic period. The biggest contender to the survival of the Lystrosaurus was the animal's very high population numbers, in fact, the Lystrosaurus was the most common terrestrial animal of its time, with 95% of fossils from the fossil beds where Lystrosaurus was found being individual Lystrosaurus.
Mod: Lystrosaurus (Acinonyx Jubatus) thezt2roundtable.com/lystrosau…
Personal Thoughts: I have heard about this animal several times in museums, documentaries, and other sources of media, it is amazing to think such a small, hardy animal like Lystrosaurus could survive the greatest extinction event on Earth, I'm a bit surprised that a species like Lystrosaurus didn't survive to today's time the way it survived the Great Dying. Anyways, I like how this Lystrosaurus is depicted, I've never actually seen a Lystrosaurus depicted with fur before, and it looks pretty good. There are a few minor issues with the animations, they can get a bit funky at times, like before being placed and after hatching, but those don't affect its gameplay. This Lystrosaurus has no major bugs or glitches, the modeling and textures are really good, and it can breed properly. I recommend checking this one out.
My Rating: 9.5/10
