Description: The Moose is a large species of Deer, specifically the largest and heaviest of all the living Deer species, that is native to wide ranges of North America and Eurasia, with 8 living subspecies of Moose known, they are a solitary animal, only coming together during the mating season. Moose are easily recognizable thanks to their large size and impressive set of antlers on the bulls, these antlers can grow to an average of 3.9 to 4.9 feet long on mature bulls, one set of antlers form an Alaskan Moose, the largest subspecies, weighed up to 79 pounds, while this size is dwarfed by the extinct Irish Elk (Megaloceros Giganteus), it still is not an animal to mess with, especially when there's females around in the mating season. Predators of the Moose include Wolves, Bears, Humans, and in some areas of Asia, Siberian Tigers, there have even been some reports of Killer Whales that hunt Moose that swim between the islands of North America's northwestern coast, and on one occasion in another region, a Moose was hunted by a Greenland Shark. But taking down a Moose is easier said than done, a healthy adult is extremely risky to hunt, as their size and strength can easily kill if the hunt goes wrong, most predators tend to target the younger and weaker Moose, but coordinated Wolf packs and large Bears are known to take down healthy adults. Moose are smart when it comes to recognizing danger, though predator identifying is learned and not instinctual in Moose, they will flee the area if they detect signs of predators, or even if there are scavenger birds, like Ravens, around, which usually means a predator is in the area somewhere.
Mod: Radical Remake (Aurora Designs) www.auroradesigns.org/site/dow…
Personal Thoughts: I have seen Moose before in several zoos, and I recall the Moose being in the first Zoo Tycoon as well, which I actually would often build a Moose exhibit first. So I'm glad it got to return in the default Zoo Tycoon 2 game. This remake is well made, though I do like the default Moose, this remake is also worthy of being included in any zoo. It has no bugs or glitches, the modeling and textures are accurate compared to the real animal, and it can breed properly in the game. I definitely recommend this mod for a more realistic approach to Zoo Tycoon 2.
