Description
Did I mention repeatedly that I hate/am terrible at colour schemes? So if I was ever in position to pitch an idea for a cartoon, this would be one of the first, since it's relatively recent and I'm not so attached to it that I couldn't stand it being tweaked. Which it inevitably would be.
Foggarty: An adventuresome old snowman, Lord Foggarty had been taking it easy in Antarctica* when one of his peers offered up a most intriguing wager: Could a famous adventure seeker such as he travel all the way around the globe in a limited time? The catch? Well since he's a snowman he'll have to co-ordinate his journey so that he hits each country as its entering winter. Quite a task.
He's a wise and caring fellow and has seen many wonderous things in his time.
Fridgit: Foggarty is accompanied on his journey by his grandchildren, one of whom is this little fellow, who idolises his grandfather and too wishes to be a heroic adventurer. This results in him acting first and thinking later, or not thinking at all, and regularly gets himself into trouble. Foggarty encourages this to a certain extent, because that's the best way to get ahead until you've cultured years of experience.
Hailee: Fridgit's sister is not so much maternal, but tends to be overprotective of him simply because she feels he'll soon get himself into trouble he can't get out of. She also has quite a fragile composure and will start to melt even in cool conditions, which is why she is regularly seen fanning herself.
Neopolitan: Devious and jealous, this insidious ice-cream quickly hears about Foggarty's wager and announces to all that he will not only complete the same challenge, but will do so before Foggarty! And so the race is on. Trading in experience for sheer tenaciousness, he'll try all sorts of underhanded devices to get ahead.
Mr. Freezer: Freezer was originally going to be a hero, along with Napolean (coming in the secondary lineup) but when I realised that I'd have to trim down the main cast if it were to have a chance in a pitch, I decided instead to transfer him over as Neopolitan's henchman. This is useful because he can climb inside Freezer whenever the heat is on and not melt, because Mr. Freezer's "coat" actually opens up to reveal - you guessed it - a fridge freezer combination. Large and powerful, but quite intelligent and thoughtful, he tends to have to serve as the subtle foil to some of Neopolitan's more overt schemes.**
*The premise here is that when you build a snowman and he's magically disappeared the next morning, he's actually migrated to colder climates, which is why vast numbers of snowmen with all sorts of global accents populate Antarctica.
**The inital idea for the character with the full name "Mr. Fridge Freezer" was just some important businessman with a shiny white suit that could accomodate magnets of various shape and size. Mr. Freezer retains some of these characteristics.

Well thank you my good man!
I hope to pitch it to a studio before too long so it's nice to know it has some appeal!

Oh god awesome sauces of every flavour.
*faves all over it*
...
Also, not to be a downer, but.. Mr. Freezer looks awfully like Coldman.EXE from Megaman Battle Network.

Yes I was slightly disappointed to find the likeness to Coldman.EXE.
Either that or I stole the idea. I forget which came first.

I'd give it to you, but.... Coldman.EXE's crotch is his mouth.
His crotch.
He talks out of it.
You.. can't compete with that.
I'm.. I'm so sorry.

I actually think the color schemes in this look great! And I, for one, would love to see a cartoon/comic series about snowmen. If not just because I love snow and cold climates.

You're a festive winter fellow?
Snowmen are a surprisingly underused medium.

Did I mention repeatedly that I hate/am terrible at colour schemes? That's why black and white is superior!
Love the designs though. Great work.

You agree I am terrible at colour scheme!? BOO HOO, WHY DO THIS TO ME.

Oh come on. It's merely constructive criticism!
All jokes aside, you do have quite the knack for color. You tend to use the more vibrant tints and I think it really makes your characters stand out and gives them their subtle wackiness.

Very nice.
So what should we (hopefully) expect from this chilly journey? Russian penguins? Canadian polar bears? Australian orcas, maybe?

There will be a penguin in the secondary lineup, and I do in fact have a design for a canadian polar bear! I'm just wondering whether to use it or not.

That's absolutely delicious. I'm tickled by the idea of animated, malevolent ice cream.
Particularly neopolitan. I think that stuff's evil to begin with.

It was the most interesting we had when I was a lad. None of this "crunchy nut rainbow" flavour or whatever the hell they're selling these days.
I don't even eat ice-cream.
But I'm keeping the patent on "Crunchy Nut Rainbow."

Please use the powers of the patent for Crunchy Nut Rainbow ice cream only for the forces of good.
Read as: please do not create a flavor of ice cream called Crunchy Nut Rainbow
