I love thinking of real AI.
By the way, yesterday I watched an anime movie (or you may also find it as six OVAs, amounting to a moive lenght) which is pretty interesting and deals with this subject.
Here is the AniDB entry: [link] (according to AniDB it is even dubbed in Russian??).

Thanks, it was sorta pun
I've watched Eve no Jikan like 3 years ago and it had a good impression on me. It's like Chobits but more deep somehow.
> it is even dubbed in Russian??).
Come on, I only watch anime with subs (and English subs!)... you can't expect anyone but original seyu to bring emotions to their voice, can you?

Well, I'm pretty much into anything that has to do with robots, and robot girls are even better (), so I watched chobits too (there's still many anime and movies on the topic I haven't watched, however).
And yes, I wouldn't expect you to watch it dubbed (It is too horrible for me too), but it's surprising that such a movie was actually dubbed.
I used to watch with english subs, now with my girlfriend I have to watch local subs which almost always are re-translations... it's crap but oh well.
(Actually she is starting to manage some English, but slowly.)
By the way the japanese have such nice voices. They translate terribly to english (girls sound like little spoiled brats), bad to portuguese (everyone sounds a bit retarded), but in spanish sometimes it can even not hurt (but still japanese can't really be beaten heh ).
How does it sound in russian?

There are funs with deep interest here too, you know
> By the way the japanese have such nice voices.
I think they use some kind of sound processing. Maybe not always and not too much but some voices (especially in anime like Lucky Star) sound too refined.
> How does it sound in russian?
On those times when I was careless and actually attempted to watch dubbed anime I felt like all my world perception was about to collapse under the ringing voice of a 44 year old man attempting to sound like Konata in the moments of her best sweetness. If you see what I mean.

Sure, sometimes I used to use a few DSTs to process voices in songs (mostly make them higher-pitch, sometimes I just speeded them up lol) and it's somehow fun to hear them higher-pitch.
But it does sound cute.

Lol I gotta google that.
*googles a lucky star russian dub*
Gah!

That's the point! Who cares about being realistic, after all anime is great exactly because it stands out so one or two cute voices won't do any harm.
> Gah!
I hope you'll recover, try listening to Misaki in NHK ni Youkoso... NO, not in Russian dub!
Phew... we've almost lost another soul

Yeah, in fact I guess without cute characters some anime might not even be possible. I did watch K-On for example, and it's good that 2 seasons pass by like it was nothing. Makes it nicier to watch on animes with plot, and makes the whole point in moeblob series.
> I hope you'll recover, try listening to Misaki in NHK ni Youkoso...
That anime is in my "to watch" list, it looks like it has heartwarming potential.
Have you heard about "MOSAIC.WAV"? She makes some cute songs now and then it seems, I'll upload a few... here:
> NO, not in Russian dub!
I'll keep that as a rule of thumb, my heart skipped a beat.
By the way was that a parody? I mean, I looked for Lucky Star russian dubs and... it was a parody right?

...or make sense at all - like Lucky Stars
> [NHK] looks like it has heartwarming potential.
The anime is impressive but manga is absolutely stunning. Sure, it has 2 dozens of volumes or so but because of this the ending isn't blurred and the entire idea is evolved nicely.
Another great manga which has terrible anime (that is, much worse than manga) is Kare Kano. Unlike NGK its ending is even worse while manga is complete and rocks hard. But it's also quite long.
> it was a parody right?
Think so if it will make your sleep peaceful Seriously, I've always wondered why our dubs sound so strange. But maybe other languages' are not much better?

(Just noticed the comments unanswered!)
> ...or make sense at all - like Lucky Stars
I just watched one episode of Lucky Star, but because at the time K-ON had already aired, I watched it instead. Filled my generic-moe-anime quota and I didn't even realise I watched 2 seasons of the thing.
If I had to resume what happen in the two seasons in one sentence, I'd have to use fillers in the sentence to enlarge it a bit.
> The anime is impressive but manga is absolutely stunning.
Ah, I suck at reading.
I know it can be good, but still.
And if I had to read one manga, the one that catched my attention as first read was this:

> Kare Kano
Never heard of it.
In that regard don't bother watching Gantz if you haven't, it's tediously slow-paced and they screwed up the ending. Otherwise it would had been cooler.
> Think so if it will make your sleep peaceful
Speaking about parodies: [link]
> But maybe other languages' are not much better?
Well, I think Spanish fares far better than Portuguese or English.
Here's a TV dub (I watched that as a kid!):

and here's a song fandub (I loved that movie):
