Yea, my original character Fivebrand (minus scars (and clothes)) in perhaps THE darkest drawing I've ever done.Long story short, Fivebrand got suicidal. Zahir (char of ~Pencil-Geek 's) managed to talk sense into him and no Fivel wasn't naked, but if Zahir hadn't stopped him... (he would still be clothed.)
Based on the wonderful quote of the best villain ever, Nero the Sable, "Let tonight be the final chapter." Which Fivebrand used. Because Nero quotes are so cool, they were getting stolen before electricity was even invented.

And the sad thing is, despite how depressing and dark this drawing is, I look at it and go, "I drew a butt. *giggle*" XD

I think the scanner ate some detail and one of these days I will learn not to work completely in an irreversible medium. DAMNIT. Also: fail at textures and couldn't find my white charcoal pencil for highlights. *fingersnap* I would've highlighted the stupid motherf***ing chains, but the damn silver pencil WOULD NOT FUCKING SHARPEN.

I can't help but wonder while looking at this how he hung himself. Did he have a mount of some kind that he was seated on then it rode away leaving him to hang? Or did he have some kind of small platform he kicked away?

Climbed up the tree, went onto the branch, tied the chain around the branch and lowered himself.
(He had a collar with a chain in the story, and was going to use that as a makeshift noose.)

The collar would not tighten unless it was a choke chain.

hanging would still strangle him, though, or damage his neck in some way, wouldn't it?

The collar would cut into him. Traditionally when people were hung, the point was to snap the neck. If it was done improperly, then they suffocated. If Fivebrand did not get his neck broken when the chain stopped his fall short, then he might suffocate by his own weight against the collar, but also it would not constrict like a noose would since it is a metal ring. If you want to be uber cruel, then have him hang there for days and eventually die of malnutrition and exposure.

Five's collar was a leather one with dull spikes on the inside... Methinks it would probably be suffocation. I wouldn't be able to give him such a long death.

Well if a dull spike impacted his trachea that would kill him suffocation wise like in martial arts movies where they strike the adam's apple to collapse the breathing tube.
