Description
Entry 5:
"Judging by the condition of those specimens that have been obtained were in upon retrieval, we can ascertain that these creatures live exceedingly long lives. This can be judged when examining artifacts that may be left on the creature; the most common and telling being spears. Most often lodged into the shell, specimens have been caught with some very early and crude metal spears. Often, only the spearhead remains in the shell, the wood shaft having long since decomposed, leaving only traces. Though, early all-metal spears have also been found rusting, as well as early modern spears. Another telling sign is the skin, under which tumors and cancerous growths have been found, as well as discoloration, and a general loosening of the skin."
"Overall, Dragon Sea Turtles are wonderous creatures which we sadly know very little of. Judging by the legends which surround these creatures, they are to be feared and respected. Now if these tails are true is a different story. Regardless, it is known that they do exist, and while not something which a sailor should be at a constant observation for, they are something which should be kept in mind. They are rare to find and even rarer to catch."
