Description
Location: Velocitario's Castle - OfficeIn the Eyes Of: Velocitario
In case you hadn't noticed, working in my position requires versatility. Being lenient, stern, carefree, serious, and having the ability to be on top of anything. Of course, this means knowing when to put your foot down. And no, I'm not talking about on the gas. I bring this up because I was sitting in my rather large office with Nozomi, Skye, and all the other “idols” Gina decided to chuck into performance cars, not to mention Team Generic. Thankfully, I had a long enough table for everyone, with me at the head, looking over some figures in silence.
Nozomi: So… what did you call us all over here for?
Umi: Yeah! And more importantly, why are THEY here!?
Alex: I want to be here as much as you, hothead.
I calmly put down my papers and stared the group down, while holding down the reading glasses I inexplicably had on with one hand. This reminded me that while Muse was willing to come over, the only reason Team Generic was here is because I've essentially blackmailed them. Don't ask. Then, I looked back at the statistics.
Velocitario: Well, let's start with the good news. Over your time here, you all have shown some level of mastery in battle, and in most of your cases, climbing the Idol Circuit. Now, this has generated quite a bit of attention for the festival, and all I can say is...
Under the table, Skye gave Nozomi a fist bump as the rest put on a smug smirk, obviously bearing the fruits of their labor. Or so they thought.
Velocitario: You IGNORANT, ABSENT-MINDED PILLOCKS, WHAT do you think you're doing!?
Suddenly, everyone at the table looked at me in shock.
Honoka: Wh… what do you mean?
Velocitario: Oh, I'll TELL you what I mean. Tell me, though. During any of your scuffles, did you not take into account the possible consequences? Such as, I don't know, damage?
Eli: Damage? Aw, c'mon! Surely we only bent a few mailboxes, or something.
Talon: Destruction's just my thing. What'd you expect?
Velocitario: Tell that to the person who had to manage the $250 Million in combined property destruction between you all.
Apparently, that number was more impactful to the Muse crew than Team Generic, who pretty much shrugged off the notion.
Hanayo: Two-hundred… fifty million?
Velocitario: To be fair, most of it wasn't directly caused by you. But you won't believe the amount of emails, messages, and letters I've been getting demanding me to kick you guys out because of the racket you're running. But that plumber and hedgehog are working to clear your names as we speak.
Then, I turned a stern eye to the real culprits.
Velocitario: And then there's YOU lot.
Infinite: Hmph. And what about us?
Velocitario: I'll make this quick. When you step into ME and Skye's house, you play by OUR rules. Rules I feel need to be reinforced. Surely you all haven't forgotten the DEAL we made?
Mercury: …
I let out a quiet sigh and cooled myself off momentarily.
Velocitario: Listen. The reason I'm taking such a cold shoulder to this is because me, A-Rise and that plumber and hedgehog run this festival and everything in it. That means when something goes awry, it falls back on us. And I think somewhere along the line, we lost track of why we're here.
Nico: And what would that be?
Velocitario: Think about it. This is Horizon. We're not here to fight. We're here to drive. That's what the Horizon Festival is all about. And that's what we're gonna do, or either my title isn't Horizon Emperor Velocitario or Mario and Sonic aren't the greatest heroes in existence.
Alex: Yeah? And how are you gonna make us?
Velocity: I can make every and any multiverse that I created self-destruct and wipe you all out.
Honoka: No! Please don't!
Honoka ran up to the white Koenigsegg One:1, much to my surprise.
Honoka: You can't do that!
Velocity: Why shouldn't I?
Honoka: Don't you remember? What we created together?
Velocity: Oh?
*Flashback*
Honoka: I wish I could change some things!
Velocity: What things?
Honoka: I wish the school wasn't under threat of being closed, and that me and my friends at μ's would stay together forever and that me and my friends could travel all over the world to-
Velocity: Say no more. It just so happens that I have the solution to your problem!
Honoka: You do?
Velocity: Yep.
Velocity glowed brightly. Honoka closed her eyes and before she knew it, she was in a completely white room. There was a table in front of her with a sheet of paper. She pulled up the chair and sat down at the table and looked at the sheet of paper.
Honoka: What is this?
Velocity: Considering I'm the creator of vast multiverses, it only made sense to create the "Alternate Universe Generator"!
Honoka: Alternate Universe Generator?
Velocity: Yeah. If there's anything you want or don't want, just write it down!
Honoka began writing and after several minutes, she filled out the sheet and would read it out loud to Velocity.
Honoka: I wish the school wasn't under threat of being closed, and that me and my friends and μ's would stay together forever and that me and my friends could travel across the world and perform in front of massive crowds and make everyone smile!
Velocity: Very good. Anything else?
Honoka: I also wish Maki was more social and that Eli wasn't so rigid and stoic! And for some reason I want Maki to have enhanced strength and Umi and Nico to have super speed!
Velocity: Alright! Close your eyes!
*End of flashback*
Velocity: Honoka...
Honoka: Hm?
Velocity: I want to extend my sincere apologies! I got so riled up, I lost sight of the masterpiece we created together.
Honoka: It's also kinda my fault.
Velocity: ... How?
Honoka: I should have wished things like this would never happen!
Velocity: That would make heroes obsolete! It wouldn't be any fun!
Honoka: Oh, right. *Nervous chuckle*
After a few moments, I looked back at my papers and flipped through them.
Velocitario: Alright, listen close. We need to get Horizon back on track. And this is going to be a team effort, so like it or not, you all are going to work together.
All: WHAT!?
Jade: You can’t be serious! I get we weren’t exactly in our right minds back then, but you can’t honestly expect us to work with the guys we’re trying to push out of the festival!
Nico: I second that! These idiots wanted us dead twenty-four hours ago!
Velocitario: News flash, honey. That was then. This is now. And for the sake of this festival, your status, and moreover, my sanity, you’re going to learn to get along as a team.
Talon: Even if you can get us all on board with this, what the heck are we supposed to do?
Velocitario: I’ll tell you what you’re going to do. You’re going to do what everyone came here for, and RACE. Because while you all were bashing each other’s skulls in, my team of drivers have every race series in the festival wrapped around their finger, and all of you put together are yet to participate in ONE festival-sactioned race, much less win one.
I reached into my coat and pulled out a fine-stitched pouch and tossed it into the middle of the table.
Velocitario: That pouch contains the keys to all of your cars, and they’re hidden out front. Consider this the start of your Midterm exam. Your first test is to make it to my other castle on Bamburgh Beach unscathed. Don’t ask why I own two, just get to it.
Umi: What’s the rush?
Velocitario: Oh, nothing. I’m just suspecting the locals won’t be too happy to see you all. Now book it before someone spots you.
With some tension in the air, everyone got up from the table and left the room. Seconds later, it was silent. I then pulled out my phone.
Velocitario: Kiera.
Kiera: What’s up, boss?
Velocitario: I need a status update on Project Tracer.
Kiera: It’s almost ready for launch. We just have to put the finishing touches on, and it’ll be ready for you.
Velocitario: Thanks. Just make sure it’s done within the hour, I’ve got the idols and the rookies making a beeline for Bamburgh Castle.
Kiera: You got it.
Velocitario: Just what I needed to hear. Oh, And while you’re at it… How goes Project: Silver Lightning?
POV Change: Third Person
As Nismo was in the shadows watching the entire thing unfold, he found himself struggling to keep his temper from flaring. Although Nismo's glad Erena was able to fight back against Team Ultimate, he's also glad she didn't get sent to this storm. Now you won't know why he's so angry at Velocitario, but let me explain. How it happened was that the two of them had a disagreement, about how he and his other characters are being portrayed. Listen, no one likes a Gary-Stu or Mary-Sue, and that's how everyone was seeing him and the others. Nismo tried to get him to realize that, but he wouldn't listen. And that's how the relationship between Nismo and Velocitario became severely strained. Nismo let out a sigh before taking his leave.
