I used to read... Or maybe just follow the development of a webcomic years ago - I'm talking 1997-2000ish - that was filled with anthropomorphic fantasy characters like this. I've always found the animal, body and character role juxtaposition really interesting. You can have a lot of fun with like and opposing design elements.
