Something about the outfit seems to be in higher quality than in other renders I've seen done by other 3D model artists. Very nice all around, you really caught her evil side with her facial expression.

I guess you're referring to the assault outfit Daymond42 has made and wich inspired me to draw these texture maps. But I did it @ 4096^2pixel and with a seperate highlight map in addition to the bumpmap.
Almost two weeks of work but I think it was worth it

If definitely shows off in the finished porduct. Don't see to much Kursed art done by models but it still is impressive to me that such things can be rendered in high quality. I've often thought why Nintendo can't create or produce this kind of quality with their characters. Probably time and money are the issue.

Nintendo doesn't produce this level of quality because it requires high-resolution textures/meshes and rendering techniques that the current crop of consoles can't handle in real-time.
Give the hardware two or three more generations to get up to speed. Should only take 10-12 years.

There'll be a lot more kursed renders in the future. I find her more interesting regarding her (possible) personality than krystal. Krystal is just cute and sexy...and a bit naiv. But that's all. Kursed, the way I imagine her, has a more complex personality. Embittered, mean, but not a totally bad person though. A good soul buried under pain and rage ...

It's already to late for sth like that I think. I've been away for a few hours and when I came back again and entered the guest room ... the DE wasn't the only new toy anymore. I don't have the slightest idea what she's up to or how she managed to get all that stuff but it looked like was preparing for WWIII. Tac gear, camo, a G3SG1, two M4s, one M16 ... and I don't even wonna know what weapon the catridge belts are for.
This crazy vixen is turning my apartment into a armory.
Fortunately I've already called a psychiatrist and made an appointment ... *sigh*

I've got a somewhat noobish question, I'm having trouble with the dynamic tail-fur, as I haven't figured out any way of texturing it, just turns out black and ugly. How did you do it when you installed it?

Hmmm...actually nothin. I just installed it.
But I know what you mean ... I'm still having the same problem. The tail needs stronger lighting than the rest of the model. Or additional light sources. (for this render I added a spot and a point at the tip of the tail to lighten it)
I've already tried brighter diffuse and/or highlight colors. Without success. With my next render I'll try lightening the root and tip colors of the single hairs. Maybe that works.

In this particular case not realy. I was testing the bump & highlight settings for the final version of the assault dress. And before each test render I also tweaked her pose and the lighting.
In the end all I needed was a background pic.
The time-consuming part was drawing the new maps.
