Description The ropes that tied them together were being jerked from side to side by the presumed fresh corpse who was now shouting expletives.  The man stopped writhing after a bit and settled down.

"The fuck is this…" a gruff voice muttered.

"You mind calming down, buddy?  You squirming all over the place isn't getting us anywhere."

"And you would be?"

"Trapped in a room with no memory of how or why."

"Thanks for the clear answer, asshole.  I meant what's your name?"

"David."

"Oh, cool…My name's Leonard."

"Want to focus on the issue here?"

"Why the hell are you so calm?"

"I'm a lawyer; my job is to be rational."

"I'm a jobless college student. Now I just feel lame."

"I didn't ask."

"Jesus, you're a dick." The brusque voice to David's back uttered.  During the short conversation, David had managed to inch a small pocket knife out of his back pocket.  Far enough to grab.

"Do me a favor, Leonard."

"Huh?"

"Grab the pocket knife out of my left back pocket. I think you should be able to reach it from where your hands are positioned."

"Nope."

"What? Why?"

"Dude, I'm not going to touch your ass."

"Just grab the knife. Do you want out of here or not?"

"Fine, but I swear to god, if you tell ANYONE, I will hunt you down." His hands groped for the knife until finally clasping its handle, removed it from the pocket and flipped open the blade awkwardly.

"Okay, okay, okay, I can do this." Leonard whispered.  Strand by strand, the rope binding them was gently being cut into.

"You okay back there?"

"No, I'm cutting my wrists because I'm so sad about being kidnapped and tied to an emotionless douche."

Okay, so the guy could wield sarcasm like a sword and had a wide range of pleasant vocabulary.  Yeah, David could deal with that.

"Okay, I'm sorry. Just…focus."  A final slice loosened the ropes on their wrists and David brought his hands to the front of his chest to assess their condition.  There was a thump of cloth being thrown to the floor beside him.

"Ha-ha! Yes! I can see!"

"Calm down, we aren't out of the woods just yet." David said while removing his own mask of cloth and laid it down next to his thigh.  He blinked several times to adjust his vision to the dim lights emitted from the swinging low-watt bulbs.  His eyes fell upon a rough metal door covered in scratches and rust.

"Aaaaaand, there's our exit." David grasped his knees then pulled himself up to full height.  At about six foot two, he could be a bit imposing at times.  Leonard mimicked him and stood as well.  The college student's line of sight fell on the back of David as he followed him out.  Every time the lawyer turned to check on Leonard, he was staring intently and was oddly quiet for once.
