Description
What would be the absolute best possible thing to find under your christmas tree?ΒWell, I guess that's different for everyone, but for me? Yeah, an adorable Chryssi-in-a-box would be it, really.
Hence this sculpt. It was only a couple of days ago that the sudden strange fancy came into my head, so this was a bit of a rushjob. But not a BAD job, if I do say so myself.Β Made out of Creall Do-and-Dry modelling... stuff. Painted with acryllic paint and the hat and coat are trimmed with the fluff from a paint roller. Can't really tell from this picture, but the box is wrapped in super fancy christmas wrapping paper. It's real fancy.
Edit: Sold! Too bad for you.

Little Chrissy is absolutely adorable, and I can't think of anything better to find under the tree than a little cutie who's hungry for love. (Okay, maybe it won't end well, but when I say that it actually sounds like a good thing. ) Great job on shaping her to look the part while also in such a baby-like pose and affect.
I'm guessing that the foil "flame" is to give some shimmering effect in-person. Also, did you have to cut a larger box down to fit her, or did you have one about the right size for this pose? (I know that it's not a real box for her because of the tail, which is another fantastic touch to the whole layout.)

The "foil" is actually several layers of transparant plastic bags glued on top of each other to represent her crumpled up wings after being in a box for a while. It looks pretty insect-like, but you can't really tell from the picture. They should be more blueish, but I didn't have any blue plastic bags. Pff, chalk it up to artistic licence.
The box was made by cutting in half a gallon Bag-in-Box of wine. Real classy stuff. Good vintage too. August, I think.

The corrugation looked very good to scale for a baby Chrissy, but the tab cut on the left and the detail on the fabrics reinforced the thought that she wasn't life-sized.
I see what you mean about the crumpled wings, since it'd suck to buy stuff and make them only to then crinkle (or Cringle?) them. If you have a friend with lots of computer stuff (or just keeps the boxes to everything) see if she/he has an anti-electrostatic bag in the right color. Maybe they're too thick or opaque though.
Hmm, too bad the wine bag wasn't right for the job.

This has to break some kind of law about maximum levels of allowable adorableness or something.
