Description
Something different to the regular ring tutorials. Nothing much to say......Enjoy i guess....
P.s.
I came up with this in about 10-20 minutes, so please add your own techniques to improve this further.

very cool tut, i think that style of rings will be the substitute of my feather based circle rings!
I tried making the texture rendering fiber, double twirling it (i prefer double) and adding a noise effect ( well...the, rings are rocks so...) and making it a little darker (and after that distort and all the thing) and it looks good (nearly the same but it looks a little imperfect)

If I were a PhotoShop artist I guess I'd find this pretty useful. As GIMP doesn't have a Twirl filter, I guess I'll stick to the 3D version
BTW - consider that whilst the planet casts a shadow on the ring, the ring will also cast a shadow on the planet's dayside.
