Tributes to Léon: The ProfessionalRecently I saw a comic picture depicting Leon as Mario and Mathilda as princess and I wanted to see if I could get a character that looked halfway like the young woman Natalie P..
Except for the missing Leon, the picture is actually based on a scene from the film. Unfortunately, by chance, after rendering and editing it, I found an even more suitable location. But when something's done, it's done.

Oh, yours is from 2012, that was a long time ago. And Iray gives the pictures today already a good push in the direction of photorealism, if you strive for this.
Especially since I invest about an hour in Photoshop and try to get more out of the pictures.
This old Leon figure was already recommended to me, I didn't know it until recently. To recreate this character with another one is not that easy. Since I have only been using DAZ3D for one year, I have also limited myself to Genesis 3 + 8 and ignored everything before.
It's the same with me. It's only a hobby and distracts me well and I can let off steam a bit creatively.

What a great rendition to one of my favourite movies (and one of the best anyway)!
I'd say you've greatly captured the mood of that particular frame, even if Léon is missing.
The essence of Mathilda is perfectly tangible and the likeliness to young Miss Portman is quite stunning!

Yeah, Leon's really missing in that picture. Unfortunately I was too lazy to spend more hours here with morphs and comparison photos. I'm not even sure if I even have a male model which would be a good source material.
I should realize 1-2 more motives with her soon.

There is a male character for M4 called "Leon" available at Renderosity.
He's looking great, the likeliness with Jean Reno from that time is amazing and it even comes with sunglasses and guns 
It would be worth a look if you try to make more of these scenes.

Oh, you're right. He does look a lot like him.
Since I've only been playing with DAZ for 10 months, I've focused exclusively on G3 and G8 characters so far. Especially because I have little desire to convert 3DL to Iray and fight with it.
Let's see, I always have so many ideas that I can hardly concentrate on one topic or character. Especially the creation of new characters tinkering makes me a lot of fun.

And I just took him out of the box, without iRay converting his textures.
Of course he has the M4/V4 flaws of that model-generation, but if dressed he looks cool I think. And these generation's textures are working quite nice in iRay.
And he comes even with that "Jean-Reno-Smile(TM)"

Mir fehlt da die Erfahrung mit allem vor G3. Hatte vor vermutlich ~16 Jahren mal kurz mit Poser gespielt, aber das waren ja noch ganz andere Zeiten. Das sah mir noch alles zu künstlich aus und daher hab ich schnell die Lust daran verloren.
Aber Du hast Recht, zumindest im Hintergrund sieht er echt ganz brauchbar aus. Kommt ja auch immer stark auf das Licht an, wie realistisch oder künstlich die Modelle aussehen.
Btw. netter Text unter dem Bild, auch wenn ich in Frankfurt bisher immer nur beim Flughafen war.

Er sieht eigentlich meistens ganz gut aus (ich hab ihn schon ein paar Mal im Bild gehabt...muss nur mal schauen wo ich die habe).
Wie auch immer...in der Sparte "Celebrity Look Alikes" ist er ganz oben auf der Rangliste
Ja, die meisten Leute kennen Frankfurt nur vom Flughafen und denken ansonsten dass es eine schreckliche Stadt ist, in der nur Banker und andere Geldhaie leben.
Aber es hat sehr viele sehr schöne Seiten.

Thank you very much. Yeah, the light almost drove me crazy. I don't remember how many lamps (mesh lights), ghost lights and "sunlight" I used.
But as real as in the movie just didn't work out, so I did it this way.

Oh, vielen Dank, freut mich dass es doch "relativ" nah gekommen ist. Mit den Gesicht war ich sogar selbst halbwegs zufrieden. Die Augenbrauen und Haare fand ich eher "schwierig" und na ja, eine Notlösung. Auch die Location, blöd war halt echt, kaum dass ich fertig damit war, fand ich eine passendere, die mehr der Szene aus dem Film entspricht. Na gut, eigentlich gehört Léon noch rein, aber hatte irgendwie keine Lust hier auch noch "Stunden" mit basteln zu verbringen, zumal ich nicht so viele Männermodele habe.

Das mit der Lust auf nochmal rendern kann ich komplett nachvollziehen. Bei mir dauern die Render wegen Nebel und DoF manchmal um die 25 Stunden - will man da wegen einer zwar guten, aber nicht 100% passenden Umgebung alles neu rendern? Ich sehe nach dem Rendern auch immer Sachen, die ich vielleicht hätte besser machen können - aber das verbuche ich dann unter "Lernen"

Ja, vor allem sitze ich meist noch min. 1 Stunde vor Photoshop und die Zeit hasse ich eigentlich wie die Pest und will ich ungern noch einmal wiederholen. Daher stapeln sich bei mir teils noch "unbearbeitete" Renderergebnisse.
Eben, man könnte ewig an einem Bild hocken oder einfach sagen "fertig" und das nächste machen.
25h? Heftig, mein längstes hatte ich 12h laufen lassen und dann beendet. Normalerweise lasse ich es immer über Nacht max .7h laufen, daher rauschen sie öfters noch. Fühle mich nicht sonderlich wohl dabei, den PC z.B. während der Arbeitszeit "unbeaufsichtigt" laufen zu lassen, aber anders könnte ich sonst nicht mehr Stunden zusammenbekommen. Wenn ich daheim bin bringt mir ein blockierter PC nix.

Noir? Die Animeserie? Wenn man den typisch japanischen "übersinnlichen" Teil der Story weglässt, fand ich die ziemlich cool / gut. Auch die beiden anderen Serien die zu dieser "Girls-with-Guns" Trilogie gehören fand ich toll: Madlax und El Cazador Gibt leider zu wenig "Action"-Anime, die in einer halbwegs "realistischen" heutigen Zeit spielen. Da fallen mir sonst fast nur Black Lagoon & Jormungand ein.
