This is a component for Flash 8. I know its not really in the right category but it's the closest I could find.

I made this preloader for personal use, but am submitting it here because I'm sick of seeing flash movies that don't have preloaders and in the description 'sorry i havent gotten to the preloader yet'. Now all you have to do is just drag this component onto the stage, set a few options, and youve got a preloader thats neat, works and has basically no impact on the file size (about 500bytes).

It includes options for changing the background/inner/border and the color/alpha of all these. Also the border thickness.

HOW TO USE
---------------

Download the .MXP file (Click 'Download to Desktop')
Open this file (make sure Flash is closed first). It should automatically start up the Macromedia Extension Manager. If it doesn't then locate this program, or download it the Macromedia site.
Click through all the menus until it is installed.

Open up Flash. Go to Windows>Components to show the Component Window
There should be a folder in this winodw titled 'psykopath'
Open this folder and drag the GPreloader component onto the stage.
This will make it work with all the default options. When the movie is 100% loaded it will go to frame 2 and play.

To change the options either use the Parameter view on the property inspector, or open the Component Inspector (Windows>Component Inspector).
The settings included are:
Background Alpha, Background Color (The background settings)
Border Thickness, Border Color, Border Size (The border settings. If you don't want a border, set the Alpha to 0)
Inner Alpha, Inner Color (The color the bar fills with)
Frame to go to on 100% loaded (Which frame to play when your flash is 100% loaded)
