Description
The start of a game I am probably never going to finish.Although I've had experience modifying the Madness Interactive source code, this engine is completely from scratch. The only things taken from Madness are the head, guns, and sound. Of course when I finish this everything will be my own work.
So far all you can do is move, change weapons, slow down time, stop time, drop/pick up weapons.
Controls: (these will be better when I'm done)
W
A D :Move and jump
Q: Activate slow time (bullet time) [again to deactivate]
B: Stop time (last about seven seconds) [again to deactivate early]
E: Drop weapons
SPACE: Change weapons
Mouse move: Aim
Mouse click: Shoot
NOTE: There is no sound for the shotgun yet.
ANOTHER NOTE: I really should point out that you shouldn't activate stop time, bullet time, and shoot the shotgun everywhere on really slow computers. Especially on Macs.

I found a wierd glitch... if you turn on 'slow bullets' you jump lower. Also, you hold jump to jump higher.

Found it. Pressing 'o' makes one appear, but its completely useless.

I think there may be a button to spawn them in this but I didn't tell anyone about it because the bullet holes didnt line up in the bodies properly and i was still trying to fix that.

maybe you come have the sound to get 'slower' when in bullet time too,

Once i get all the weapons in with sounds for them I'm going to have the slow sounds as well. The hard part will be switching between sounds half way through when bullet time runs out.

hmm.. yeah good point..
but the sound will be so short couldn't u just start the new one when the other ends?

Good point, but I've already figured out how to do it. Figure out the percent of the how much has played, and start from there in the other one.

hehe, thats pretty nice. reminds me loads of madness interactive but there are a few neat things you've got going on there, I like the stop time idea, also some of the effects are cool. id like to see it without the madness type characer though... ive just seen too many games try to be like madness that are cool on their own merits

Yeh I find the madness character easy to work with during development because its so plain, and I'm not that good at drawing characters, Im more into the scritping side of flash. When I'm done with the scripting and then just working on the visual appeal of it hopefully I'll find a better character.

you should try playing around with limbs, its lots of fun, the character doesn't even need to look good but people go 'ooooh, thats clever' *digs up link*

I was thinking about that last night and before I saw your deviaition that was exactly what I was thinking of doing. It looks great, but I'll still have to get a decent character to use it with.
