Oh wait that probably isn't the first thing I should remark on.

So presumably you aren't totally oblivious but for various reasons I decided to stop being ambiguous. At least for one comic. I don't feel like discussing the reasons in depth but basically... well there's only so far romantic tension can take me. And more importantly I don't want to end up with the comic sending the message that same-sex relationships are funny but not okay to show.

EDIT: Okay so it's not 10:30 at night and I feel like elaborating a bit more now. I've been keeping this at a certain level of ambiguous for various reasons, the main reason being that I don't really do romance and that wasn't what the comic was supposed to be about o.o No, really. I didn't intend this to happen but OCs have minds of their own. But once it was apparent I did have a relationship on my hands, I was a little unsure of what to do. I decided that I would make hints... with it being very important to me to show that Will was fine with Tyrian's attentions. I wanted to make hints at some other romantic goings on too, and I wanted to leave it open so as not to tread on any toes... But over the past few months I read and saw some things that made me feel like it was unfair to not make it official. Some toes are worth treading on. I feel really sorry for people who want to show same-sex relationships and can't because of things like broadcasting regulations. It's ridiculous that it's okay and practically a requirement for many kids shows and things to have straight relationships going on, you can make as big a song and dance about them as you like - we have some problems with the glorification of sex and the idea that if you're not in a relationship and want babies there's something wrong with you - but if it's a same-sex relationship, oooh, suddenly it's all hush hush and don't tell the children, no matter how chaste it is. And then there's the whole fetish business. I hesitated to show a same-sex relationship for so long partly because there is such a stigma attached to things like yaoi - which I don't like, fyi - but again, if I don't even try, if I just avoid it entirely because I'm afraid people will think I'm a fetishist then it's just as bad as all those other reasons not to portray it. I wrote a journal about it - Yaoi and stuff, I guess
And I feel pretty strongly about this sort of thing. You see, I grew up without the internet. And until I was fifteen, I thought there was something wrong with me. Why? You're going to laugh. It was because I only seemed to get crushes on fictional characters. I just wasn't attracted to anything physical (still not) and I didn't like anyone in real life. The few people I dared to tell acted like it was strange and wrong and weird. Nowadays, with the internet and mass fictional heartthrobs like Lara Croft and Edward Cullen, it's pretty normal. I'm still a little hesitant to talk about it even today, but here in my little DA world I will even draw silly memes about it -

But I grew up thinking there was something wrong with me because I wasn't standard in my sexuality. It's a different thing, I know. There's no history of prejudice or legal nonsense. But I don't want other people to feel like that. So I won't 'Hide my lesbians' or whatever. ...unless it's for romantic tension.

And now I can finally post all the art I've been holding back in a effort not to destroy all the romantic tension - I HATE IT when people take my romantic tension away prematurely - but now I can post it yaaay Although by 'all' I mean about three pictures.

And yeah good luck explaining that to Victor, Tyr. Have fun with that.
