Pretty much my open love letter for the Ace Combat team.Always a fan of the crazy air battle scenarios in the series, so I wanted to paint my own take on the boss fights. this case, I pretty much went out of my comfort zone and gave mechanical design a shot.
The airborne fortress/UAV looking bomber is based on a combination of B-2, HO-IX, predator/reaper UAV, various moths, birds and aquatic animals.
The fighter design is based on J-20, F-35, F-16, and F-22. Except these guys don't use any internal missile bay because they operate on the rule of cool. WHO NEEDS STEALTH WHEN YOU CAN BE COOL WITH AMRAAMS HANGING DOWN THE WINGS LIKE A PREDATOR'S CLAWS >
Anyway, there we go, glad to have some time to paint something for myself again

I managed to get exactly the Ace Combat without giant airplane bosses and all the SciFi stuff.
Damn cool pic, makes me wanna get more AC games.

The upturned wingtips on the fighter are similar to an f4 phantom, which incidentally is playable in many of the AIR COMBAT and ACE COMBAT games.
The big one reminds me of the final boss craft from the PS1 game.
Apparently the F22 and the F35 aren't as stealthy as the USAF would like them to be.The F35 in particular is still plagued by problems!

The F-35 lost in a simulated dog fight against F-16's...so you're right. Not the plane it was supposed to be. Sadly tho, i kinda like its design^^

Thats just awesome. And i, as a fellow Ace Combat player, can totally imagine this being in a future AC title. Like a "real" Ace Combat 7, back in our beloved strangereal and not this Real World scenarios, Joint Assault, Assault Horizon and Infinity are giving us.
Your many AMRAAM`s are reminding me of the F18F Super Hornet in Infinity, got like 8 or 10 AMRAAM's hanging on it xD

The next real Ace Combat needs more super weapons like this. Infinity is cool and all, but its mostly reused assets. Awesome work here though.
