Trainer’s Notes
Attitude: Diesel is a horse anyone can handle, but he especially loves to work with kids. He’s a very forgiving horse, and puts up with far more than is asked of him. He’s on the lazy side which is often good for kids who don’t know when enough is enough. He enjoys being inside more than outside strangely.
Conformation: Very stocky built paint horse. He’s got good strong legs and a well-developed neck though his head is a little on the rough side. Diesel is well muscled and has powerful hindquarters.
Ground Manners: A Gentleman. He is very sensitive to what his handler is doing. He lunges well though doesn’t need it as he’s the same horse no matter how often he’s worked.
Riding Style: Diesel is beginner safe and loves to help teach newcomers. He’s got a really smooth jog and picks up the correct leg without much help. He’s good with vocal cues which is a big help for kids without much leg to work with. “Click” to jog, and “kiss” to lope is all he needs. He steers easily neck-reining or direct and works better off a looser rein.
History: Born in 2004, Diesel was donated along with his sister to Baisley Ranch and Team Leg Up.
