Description
To create Near, I modified an existing resin model kit, 1/8 Amasato Nagomi using magic sculpt. The bent knee was not changed, but the other 3 limbs were repositioned, some more than others, to make the new pose. On the face, the cheeks were sanded slightly, the mouth closed and the eyes opened more. The hair was heavily resculpted into Near’s style. Originally one foot was in a slipper, so I had to sculpt toes to complete the foot. The puzzle was digitally drawn and printed on matte photo paper and glued on cardboard. And then pieces were cut out using the tip of a hobby knife.

Working time was two months and Near was completed in June 2008. Base coats were airbrushed with acrylic paint and the shading done with calk pastels.
