Description
Broken, I sit on this wind blown beach.
Lamenting of what was, what used to be.
I am alone for the world to see.
The storms have passed, better, out of reach.

I once rode atop the crests of the noble waves.
Born of the sea, a traveller.
Moving with the current,
Following with non-chalant abandon.

Floating between inlet and bay,
Moving between the ports and piers.
All the while, out of sight,
Out of reach.

Yet the travelling comes to an end,
trapped by the rocks, left to rot.
Watching people walk on by,
uncaring and cold.

Untill, I caught your eye, and you mine.
You dragged me up, out of the water.
Away from where I felt safe and comfortable
You took away the pains, and the hurts,
and showed me the beach, my destiny

As you ran your fingers through my hair,
You clove me in two,
took away the sweetness inside,
then you were done, and left me alone.

Left me broken in the midst,
in the midst of a maelstrom.
With no friend but the wind and sand,
and the dull roar of the waves I was once atop

But pain I no longer feel,
The hurts are a frozen wheel.
Although I'm in two,
I thank you.

So alone I sit, watching the waves.
Watching the people walk on by.
Lamenting of times past.
Not happy, but resloved.
