The original line art for this was done by and when I saw it, I had to slap some colours on it. I tried to stay faithful to his statement that he wanted it in black and white, so I did the entire thing in greyscale and added tints to it as the last step.Related content

Excellent job, mate! You didn't just stay true to my words, but also to the whole feel of the piece by doing a very tight and monochrome palette. Usually I find it difficutl to work with colorists because they'll go over the top with effects and such in PS; but you stuck to the original art and that made it stronger with the colouring!

I believe in saying the bare minimum necessary with a piece. As a colorist, your job, like with inking, is to interpret the line art and make it say what is already being said, but with a touch more emphasis. I loved the lines. There was no good reason to change them to convey what was being said.
Thanks for the kind words and I will certainly look through your gallery when I have the urge to do some more colour work.
