Maybe it's just me.
Maybe I'm the liar. Instead of the bearer of this burden.
A thousand words for a thousand seconds of drowning.
With lakes and rivers and gunshots and dying hearts.
Where does one fit in?
When all we have left, is a shadow.
A darker reminder of our secrets.
Where kill and devour the dead with our sick fantasies of rights and wrongs.

Maybe I'm the one.
Too many words. And I am the keeper of the secrets.
I'm the punisher. And the prosecutor.
Where I am the devil and the angel.
I am both halves.
Seperate, yet whole unto themselves.

How we wish to forget sometimes.
Some times are better off forgotten.

Prescribing medicine to alter the thoughts, only to be overcome with new ways to put killers in our brains..
And we take the knife. It feels better. So much better.
Who knew it could be this good.

We really are our own worst enemies.
But it doesn't take away the hurt.
Perhaps, nothing ever will..

Wounds are spread deep..
Darker secrets, even more so..
We long for peace. For silence.

But this is not real.
I am not a shadow placed on a wall you just built.
I am not so innocent as to believe.
Crushed dreams are cruel indeed.
But it was deserved.

To crawl along this earth, like ashes in the wind..
Escape is the unreachable..
