Description
Nether shards are hostile crystalline xenos that lurk within the lightless abyss within the great beyond. These crystalline monsters are rumoured to have been fragments of other crystalline creatures of greater proportions.
Nether shards often come to our world through wormholes or through advanced summoning rituals. Either way, they’ll mindlessly attack and destroy whatever creatures it deems a threat to it’s existence alone.

Nether shards mainly migrate from dark warp wormholes to earth because of it’s attraction towards infernal energies that surface from the underworld. They prefer to stay out of sight from other creatures that aren’t from the cosmic abyss, but they tend to fight alongside infernal monsters (only to feed from infernal energy they emit).

The crystalline monsters are very resilient towards non magical weapons but are significantly less resistant against explosive damage or adamantine weapons. Nether shards posses incredibly dangerous psionic abilities, including mass telepathy used as a weapon by emitting ear piercing horrid screeching noises to deafen victims and drive them insane, psychic pressure that can deal severe psychic damage in a time span of a few seconds. They can also use their vorpal crystal shards to slice into even the toughest armour while also poisoning them with otherworldly toxins that render the victim delirious.

Using non magical or adamantine weapons will only be half as effective against a nether shard. Explosives are a must have, as explosive damage can destroy the nether shard’s crystalline body.
