my TumblrMy personal rendition of GLaDOS, just for fun cause I wanted to do something kind of mecha and try doing that pose in that perspective.
plus i wanted to do some bgs from portal layouts in Glados's screen xDD
good practice all around

Oh, so I'm not trying now? I'm not spending time of my day to make something that people will just insult? If you have experience you don't need to CARE about haters because you know your work is good. But for someone like me, I have not as much experience and I get put down easily. Think about that the next time you go so far as to view my art just to make fun of it.

You don't know that this guy is just as easily put down as you. He still could be put down by people calling his art that he spent so much time and effort on, "fetish art". Maybe sometimes things aren't as interesting if you just draw the normal form of something. Maybe you want to creatively change it. Maybe he actually puts work into what he does rather than posting something awful and using the excuse of, "Oh, I'm sensitive! Positive comments only plox!" That's not how you become a better artist. You become a good artist by gaining more experience through criticism. I'm not talking about criticism like, "Why did you draw this? It looks awful." That's awful criticism. Good criticism is something like, "I personally don't like ____." That way the artist knows how to take it. I'm not trying to make fun of your art. I'm just saying it's completely irritating when you try to give feedback to someone who's completely out of your creative interests, because it usually ends up being something like:
"The art is good.
But SERIOUSLY.
IT IS A ROBOT.
DON'T SEXUALIZE IT."
To me, this says you're clearly not in the same creative spectrum as the artist creating it. You want the characters to stay as they are. You want the characters to look, "normal". Some people don't want that, and it doesn't help when a person from a different creative spectrum crosses over just to comment about how different, and therefore weird, it is.
