Description Built of March 1916, as LBSCR E2 No. 107; Thomas worked for the LBSCR until he was bought by The Fat Director in 1917, and taken to the Island of Sodor. As he left for the Island with the Director in his cab he also collected a fully loaded coal truck, as his coal bunk is very limited. By the time they reached Barrow-In-Furness not far from the Vickerstown Girder Bridge that lead to the Island he would collect two bogie coaches that the Director purchased that were used for semi-fast local from the LBSCR as well but before he bought Thomas, both coaches were unnamed at the time.
When Thomas reached Knapford Yard; he was greeted to the welcoming site of an Ex-Furness Railway K2 'Large Seagull' who the Fat Director introduced as Edward; Edward then ask the Director if 107 was gonna shunt his coaches and trucks; the Fat Director said "Don't call him by his number, he's called Thomas, and he's gonna help get the railway completed. Soon after 2 years passed a grey, mis-steaming GNR-looking Ten-Wheeler crawled into Knapford Station, much to the Director anger as he wanted an Atlantic instead, Thomas saw what went off in Knapford Station, that 4-6-0 would be Henry.
By this time Thomas was repainted into NWR Blue and had a No.1 painted onto his tanks, and officially became part of the railway itself.
After Henry forced himself to stop in the single track section of the Tidmouth Tunnels and was bricked up on both ends; Thomas met the newest engines Gordon, the LNER A1, who arrived from the Mainland with corridor coaches; and James the LSWR 700 Class, who was rebuilt with a Pilot axel at Vickerstown Works and was reclassified as a LSWR 750 Class; but had wooden brakes fitted by accident that he was unaware of.
After James's crash, Thomas was given the two unnamed coaches that were hauled by James before the crash took place; they would be called Annie and Clarabel respectfully, and Thomas the newly opened Ffarquhar Branch Line, and he would run the services from there on out.
After awhile a new engine arrived on the Ffarquhar Branch, his name was Percy, a GWR Trojan Tank; he learned Percy the ropes of the Branch Line, they did get off on slightly uneven ground; but they helped eachother out eventually.

After 3 years, another newcomer arrived on the Branch Line his name was Toby, but unlike Percy, Toby already knew how to run a Branch Line and Thomas knew that and that he was a Tram Engine and of a older design.

Thomas taken to Crovan's Gate to be repainted into a revised scheme of NWR Blue and minor refit which also co-encided with The Grouping Act that occured on the Mainland. Then new engines started to arrive on the Island after that.

The 1st engine to arrive was a GWR Pannier by the name of Montague, simply known as Duck, and then a Prototype LMS Shunter by the name of simply Diesel at the time a year after. Diesel was sent away after teasing and messing with most of the engines to shun Duck away. Duck continued to work on the NWR after it was found out he was not at fault.

Soon after two Caledonian 0-6-0s arrived onto the Island both named Donald and Douglas, by this point The Fat Controller was the head of the railway and had only bought Donald; but Douglas proved himself and now works on the Island.

Then a GWR 1400 0-4-2T snuck onto the Island but was stopped at placed into a disused siding of Vickerstown Yard, Donald found the 1400 who was called Oliver and took him to his true 'Home' of Sodor; he was then restored and then with Duck started running the new branchline, simply known as the Little Western from 1951.

When all four constituencies combined into British Railways; Thomas stayed within his revised NWR Blue scheme; then BR introduced the Double Arrow Logo; and so, the logo was applied to all NWR engines and became Sodor Rail; Thomas's Sodor Rail Logo is in the same place where the NWR lettering was; also, Thomas had a black coat of paint applied around the border of his Tanks and Coal Bunker; as well as his wheel were blacked out.
By this time, Thomas was also repaired after he had a accident when colliding into the Stationmaster's house which damaged he front buffers which were repaired along with the new repaint. During his absence, a BR Class 121 by the name of Dasiy was subbing in for him during his time away; she was snobby and rude at first, but gained sense after awhile whilst working on the Ffarquhar Branch. Much soon after at Anopha Quarry, they purchased a BR Class 04 with Steel Skirts called Mavis.
