Description
I feel awful for uploading my hostile character before my non-hostile, but he was very fast and easy to write everything out for, and gosh darn if he isn't just going to be the funnest character
~~~~~
Nature of Hostility: Talon will not hesitate to do horrible, god-awful things to your character if he finds them “interesting” or any sort of attractive. He loves fucking with people, messing with their heads, or overall just causing damage. Very sadistic, very hard to gauge. Ask for him with caution.
Name: Talon (Goes by Helmaroc while in outfit #2)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Height: 5’ 11” (so close but so far)
Sexuality: Bisexual (Only really attracted to those he finds “pretty”, so most men are out of the picture)
Likes/Dislikes:
Glass - Nothing makes Talon happier than glass. It can be bottles, shards, windows, you name it. If it’s shiny that’s great, if it’s colored that’s even better. He loves how it feels, how it tastes, if it had a smell then he would love that too. He loves the stuff and giving him a gift of glass is the best/easiest way to get on his good side.
Brothel Isles / Vanishing Isle - One’s for play and one’s for work, but he genuinely enjoys both places, even when he has to pay extra after, ahem, playing a little too rough with a brothel worker. The vanishing isle is just a favorite of his because of the thrill of going there and the feats others manage to pull off each time. Everyone loves a show-off.
Hygiene - Despite his appearances, Talon takes great care to maintain his personal hygiene, from brushing his teeth to making his own soap to clean himself with. He appreciates when others share his enthusiasm for such things. If only someone could teach him how to cut his hair…
Being Praised - Nothing makes him happier than being told by someone that they’ve heard of his deeds, or that he’s done an excellent job of something. He holds himself to high standards, so it’s always great to be recognized for it.
Ugly People - Sorry guys and gals of the lesser beauty, Talon is a very superficial guy. He makes exceptions for those who show TRUE potential in his eyes, but for the most part he uses the uglier sort as “practice” more than “play”. He does, however, appreciate the lower self-esteem of the less attractive ladies. Makes them easier.
Strong Willed People- Along the lines of the above, he hates when people are strongly defiant, put up a lot of fight or struggle when he’s trying to get information or just bring them to a new location, so on. Very tiresome. Very tedious. Makes for a very angry Talon.
Breaking Things/Broken Things - While Talon takes deep pleasure in breaking people, items are another thing entirely. Once an item is broken(with the exception of glass), it becomes useless, so he tries to avoid breaking things as much as possible, and refuses to buy anything that isn’t in near-mint condition.
Failure/Losing - Talon is a VERY sore loser, but more than that, he hates when he’s failed at something. His reputation means a LOT to him and he’ll do just about anything to keep it well-maintained, or at least the way he wants it.
Personality:
Humorous
/
Professional
/
Cocky
/
Materialistic
/
Ruthless
/
Sadistic
First and foremost, Talon is mentally not okay. He finds intense enjoyment from seeing other people suffer, from hurting people, killing them, so on. Nothing makes him happier; sex is a placebo until he can get his real fix. When he gets into the mood for it, he will hurt people just for the thrill of it, and he won’t stop until he’s gone too far. He knows when to restrain himself, but even then he tends to push the line between “acceptable” and not; the brothel makes him pay extra because of this. On top of this, Talon is INCREDIBLY cocky about his skills. He’s killed so many times before and gotten away with it, stolen things and not been caught, and overall has just done so much shit with no consequences that he thinks he’s practically perfect. That said, Talon isn’t an entirely bad guy… just mostly. He is a very professional man in regard to his contracts; if you tell him not to do something, he won’t do it. If you ask him to do something in a certain way, he’ll make it happen. Of course, this is only if you, ahem, commission him for his “services”. Other than that, he just enjoys a laugh, usually at someone else’s expense. He’ll try to come off as friendly and likeable, because it’s easier to trick people that way.
Class: Thief
Alignment: Neutral Evil - While he does have a set of “laws” that he’s created for himself, he will very easily break them when he wants to or needs to. On the flip side, he doesn’t do evil for the sake of evil, but because he truly enjoys it, and as such, he doesn’t fall ito lawful evil or neutral evil. He’s just a sadistic guy who likes to hear pain and cause pain, and do things that most wouldn’t think to do.
History:
Talon could never say that he knew his mother, or his father, or even his home island. He knew that he grew up north of Eclipse Island, that it was a place that was frequented by the scum of the Earth, that orphans were very prone to death and if they managed to stay alive, would be nothing more than crippled beggars. Talon managed to get by for most of his youth by catching and eating rats, cats, dogs, any animal he could find. Bugs were no exception, and if there wasn’t a fire, then eating the meat raw was better than not eating at all.
Being in the right place at the right time was what managed to get him out of that lifestyle, because at the ripe young age of twelve, Talon was caught in his first act of murder. It wasn’t that the man had done anything to deserve it, really, but Talon had been hungry, and this man had food, and that was all the reason the boy needed to end a life. As fate would have it, the man that had witnessed the murder wasn’t one to turn the boy in, but instead noticed the potential the young one had. It wasn’t often that you find a child with both the willingness to end a life, but the know-how or even potential to do it. With the promise of never going hungry and a bed, Talon left with a complete stranger and began his new life as the apprentice of a kidnapper.
Were Talon told what his life was actually going to turn out to be, he probably would’ve been a much happier child. The boy learned about everything that he had secretly wanted to know throughout his life, from how to tie ropes to different concoctions that would aid in immobilizing people, to how to haggle for a good price on a job well done. The boy grew up as a sponge for knowledge, and once his tutor’s knowledge had run dry, Talon “inherited” the boat and his mentor’s title of Helmaroc, and set off to see what sort of name he could make for himself and what fun, wonderful things he could accomplish before he dies.
Other:
While some would argue that monsters are made, Talon was very much his own creation. He has been a demented little freak since the day he was born (it’s highly likely that this was why he was abandoned to begin with, if his parents could tell from a very early age).
During his time as an apprentice, Talon went by the name “Kalgaroc” while on the job. Talon also picked his own name, and it was purely good luck that it happened to coincide with his new lifestyle revolving around birds… kinda.
Talon, if he decides your character is “his”, will bite them somewhere on their body hard enough to leave a scar. It’s his branding, so to speak.
Regarding the above, Talon has the potential to be a VERY possessive man. One should hope he doesn’t find an interest in them, that he would actually want to keep them.
The name Helmaroc (obviously) comes from the wind waker boss “The Helmaroc King”, who was known for kidnapping young ladies. Can you tell where the name comes from?
Talon has a very odd way of speaking. He’s working on improving this by (Hylia it’s embarrassing to admit) taking classes at Eclipse Island on how to read and write, so he can better his vocabulary and, hopefully, learn how to effectively smooth-talk. It would certainly make kidnapping ladies easier if he could just persuade them to follow him to his ship, or to an alley, or so on.
It is a VERY rare occurance for Talon to be frowning, heaven forbid straight up scowling. He almost always has some sort of smile on his face, even if it’s grinning through unbridled rage. Most of the time, his smiles come off as charming and friendly, though there are times where it’s downright disturbing to see.
His main outfit on the profile is his casual, everyday attire that he wears when perusing the friendly islands. Outfit #1 on the profile is his typical "hunting" attire, #2 is the "Helmaroc" attire (which really only involves wearing the mask and poncho over the first outfit), and outfit #3 is his bathhouse or "lazy day" attire, when he's relaxing and just doesn't care about how he looks.
RP Methods/Style: At the moment it’s purely skype, PST time, lit speak, all that I’ll try to be better about posts but don’t fault me too heavily if I take a good chunk of days to reply; I promise I’ll never take longer than a week.
Oh yes, it certainly did! ;3
I love how he's slightly evil, and "obsessed" with glass xD
I also read some of the journals of your group (Tattered Sails) and found the idea extremely interesting! I love the Zelda games. ^w^
I think I'll probably join the group sometime in the future, just need to read into RPs a bit, since I don't really know much about it (never done it before).
Ahaha, I would say he's a little more than slightly evil but thank you! I'm glad you find him interesting.
And oh, wow! I would definitely say to feel free to watch the group for a while! It'll open very soon, and you can get a good feel for how rps work for this group (as different groups have different standards), and then decide if this group is right for you C: We'd love to have you though!
Hehe, yeah I guess he is
Yupp, I'm watching! ;3
Somehow I feel like this is exactly what I've been (unconsciously) looking for! I mean, I love creating characters, writing stories, playing RPGs. And to me it seems like this is all that goodness in one sweet group! (ehm...correct me if I'm wrong... xD). I'm reading some RP rules/info right now!<3
Sorry for the super late reply! But yes, it does sound like the world of roleplay is what you've been looking for Not gonna lie, it's incredibly fun and rather addicting once you get into it! Again, feel free to watch the group for a while, and join either when it opens after beta-testing, or just whenever you feel like it! Whichever happens first C: There's no rush, we'd love to have you whenever.
No problem! ^^
I'll definitely join later on! ;3
I'm just going to be a bit of a stalker first to get some more info about the group and what to do ^w^
Very interesting so far!
I like that you don't use script style (yes I've just learnt what that is..) It gives the story a better flow to simply write it as a descriptive story!
