im. uncertain myself whether or not the demon made him cut his own tongue out or if he did it in a fit/episode of (insert any and all overwhelming emotions and horrors the demon initially put him through), but here we are
he's just tired

idk if i ever explained but like tldr: Ignacio was going to die from a terminal illness, to which his religious family and friends responded by summoning what they thought was a helpful entity or angel to keep him alive and well, if not to cure him.

I mean.... he's alive and "well" enough. He's just.
constantly tired and drained bc the demon is parasitic
it only keeps him alive bc it needs him alive to survive itself. so-- parasite, yeah.
Get rid of the demon, and Iggy's illness comes back.
He doesn't really know how to get rid of this particular demon though, as it's very very stubborn.
He's tried exorcisms and the like but it only served to piss it off.
He'd rather die than live like this, but alas-- anything he does is fixed by the entity keeping him alive.
Shot to the head? No problem. Overdose? Easy to fix. Fucking wood chipper?? Takes awhile but he was fine after some time of being "Dead" (more like, in limbo til his body was repaired bc his soul is tethered to that bitch of a demon).
