Description
I have been playing waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much of PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics. I love that stuff. I love the chemist. Mediator, not so much, but they're still pretty dandy. As my roommate found really ironic, the Mediator class (red) are only one of two (technically three) classes that can equip guns. "Why does your Mediator have a gun!?"
May add shading someday, too tired tonight.

That's one Bad-Ass Mo-Fo Chemist you got there. I'm Lol'ing so hard at this. X3
And yeah. Mediators are epically useless imo, until you wind up with a level 70-odd party in chapter 3, at which point it's cheaper and easier to recruit random human enemies and steal their stuff and dismiss them than it is to actually buy the stuff in the stores...

Still, they're not terrible, especially if you're out to stat-boost. Increased Bravery, here I come!

I play tactics to smash things with lancers and ninjas. There's very little subtlety to my game. XD So stat boosts just never work for me (also, don't know if this makes a difference, but I play the old-school PS1 version, full of typos and epic spell/ability failures for anything with status effects...). There's someone to love every class, I suppose.

Haha! Yes! This is the version that I play also. You can take your Dark and Onion Knights and stuff them!
As for me, I love me a good smasher like lancers and geomancers (AHHH!!! THE LOVES OF MY LIFE!) but I'm liking ranged fighting more and more and more and more. MAGIC AND GUNS UP THE WAZZOO. I find it to be really fulfilling to play this way for me, and I love how this game is balanced: for most magic players, it's not impossible to use them!! It's so beautiful.

Yeah, I love that each time I decide to start Tactics over, it's the same game, but different. The random grind fights help a lot with that, but also if you're tired of playing knights, you can play with thieves or archers or oracles (I
oracles. They're so useless for me - HUGE spell failure - but when they hit, they make me giggle
)... pretty much any combination of the party is a winnable game. Except when I go up against Velius. D: I can't beat him without an entire party of lancers. I screamed like a little girl when I played XII and Belias was the first Esper from the traumas of playing this game and trying to beat that darned goat... *TANGENT* ... *ahem* sorry.

See, hoards of Monks and Lancers seem to be what the doctor ordered for that fight.
Monks are another class of my heart! <3

I LOVE Monks. But I can never seem to make them NOT DIE. e_e They're not offensive classes for me. D: I front-line them, and they drop dead. Lancers, though... Lancers can get OFF the field long enough to not be a problem. >_>; I'm just always annoyed that I can't find a /different/ way to win that fight. :\

Haha, and I guess I shouldn't talk, because I haven't even technically defeated him...I made the immortal naive mistake to save my game before I fought him, with no second save space in sight. GUHHH...

Lol, oops. I've done that so many times, you would not believe (you have a game for 13-ish years, you wind up doing lots of things 'so many times'...). >_>;;; If I don't have a whole party able to go lancer before that fight comes up, I totally have two saves - one before and one inside that castle. That is a terrible place to be stuck! D: !
This sounds harsh, but maybe 'start over' is an option? On the bright side, while the game only gets harder, it also gives you a lot more pleasant maps. I don't have a problem with any fight in that game besides Velius. *sigh*

Well, I'm currently on that "Start Over" point of my life. I'm currently in Chapter 3 on the second floor of the Orbonne Monastery with my current dream team being Ramza as a Lancer/Time Mage combo, Agrias just a holy knight (hopefully, a ninja combo soon), a female Samurai/Geomancer, a male Theif/Monk and a female Lancer that I may convert to a Ninja/Dancer soon... Also working on mastering a male Black Mage, make him master Time Mage, then convert him into the most BAD ASS MOFO CALCULATOR ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET!
God! I love the mix and match so much that you can do with the characters. Like I was telling my boyfriend, I love how much the game works to accommodate personal playing style, that there's really no "wrong" way to do it, other than not have a plan at all with your characters.
