Description
Another strawberry-tutorial. I just used another method, a better one if you ask me. I mean they look a bit more like strawberries in the endBut you know what? I got myself a pasta machine, it's GREAT...
There might be a few typos or other mistakes somewhere, as I'm really tired right now...Doing this took longer than I expected/hoped-.-

EDIT
I was so surprised that this was made a DD, thank you so much!
Also thanks for the comments and favs, I really appreciate them!!

Sorry for the late reply
Yes, you can actually slice them after baking if they're not too thick and you use a really sharp cutting tool like a razor blade

I have a question... How were you able to keep the clay in a square shape? I kept messing up because it just kept getting longer with each roll, which didnt help when I tried to flip it over.

Sorry for the late reply!
Yeah I know, the rolling part is quite hard if you don't want to get it all messed up T_T

I have a question - how much clay do you need when you blend for the second time?
I've tried, but I never have enough clay.
Awesome and really helpful tutorial.

Thank you!
It's kind of hard to say, but I suppose you need at least twice as much as you used when blending for the first time.

how long do you bake it for? can not be too long right? if you still want to cut it? O.o
π: 0 β©: 1
QueEnOfNights In reply to blackcat1234 [2012-04-03 23:14:19 +0000 UTC]
Of course that depends on the type of clay you're using. Personally I use Fimo and I usually bake the canes for 15 minutes or so

How did you blend steps 3-5 (if each box was considered a step)? Because i tried to do everything that you're tutorial shows, but mine keeps turning into a disaster. I think i'm doing it wrong, is there something i'm missing? Please helppp.
By the way, those are the most realistic strawberries ever, awesome job!

Thank you & sorry for the late reply!
If the blending didn't work maybe you folded the piece in the wrong direction. You know, like, placing the white end on the red one.
Also you might have to squeeze the ends a little if the piece becomes too long. In that case it sometimes gets messed up a little T^T

Hnng, these are just too adorable!;__;β₯β₯ They look so professional, too! Thank you for making this, it really helps. I'll be making these for sure.
I have a quick question though, if you don't mind.''';_; When you make a cane, do you bake it and THEN slice it? Won't it break? :c
Thank you for readingβ₯

QueEnOfNights In reply to PikaChouu [2012-01-25 17:27:20 +0000 UTC]
Thank you so much, I'm glad you like it!
I think it depends on how thick the cane is. If it's more than about 8 mm in diameter it gets quite hard to cut it, yet that also depends on what kind of clay you're using, how long you bake it and how sharp your cutting tool is. So you can actually cut the cane after baking, that way the colours won't get messed up as they often do when cutting before baking.
Of course you should use something really sharp, like a razor blade. Then the cane won't break either

This is AMAZING!!
But I have a question: do they become smaller when you bake them??
I thought of that, looking at the last pictures...

Thanks a lot for your comment!
They don't actually become smaller, I just made the canes thinner before baking
