Description
"Blood Moon Rising" A time lapse sequence from tonight's blood moon, the weather was absolutely perfect without a single cloud in the sky.
Technical stuff - This is a composite shot, I've taken the time lapse of the moon and overlayed it onto a shot I took at the location I was actually shooting at. My torch battery died so I used my inbuilt phone torch and a coloured flash gel I had floating about in my bag to light paint the tree in. I left the stars visible behind the moon on purpose as I prefer the way it looks over big voids of undetailed darkness so you don't need to point out to me that I forgot to mask out the stars behind the moons, because I left them there on purpose, just pretend it's a fantasy planet that's not Earth if that makes you feel more comfortable with my quirky editing choice, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

It's a stack of 11 individual shots piled on top of one another, I'm not sure there's any other way to capture the moon as clearly so I captured to event the only way I know how and combined it into one shot later on, I think it turned out pretty awesome.
