People are like windowsSo transparent, and fake
It seems like no one knows
Who anybody is anymore.
This generation is doomed.
Doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past
Because instead of learning from them,
We ignore them, and take to the sky like Icarus.
Egotism runs rampant through our ranks.
People thinking that they can do whatever they want
Without thinking of the consequences.
What is our world coming to?
I don't know what the future holds for us,
but I don't think we'll like the outcome.
Maybe people will take a good hard look at the past
and swear not to live by those mistakes.
Or maybe not...

Remember how I told you how I was gonna rant about stuff? Well, I never really could put words to what I was feeling, but you've really done a good job here. Like, this is one of the main reasons I get so frustrated anymore.
What inspired you to write this?

It just kinda crossed my mind when I was thinking about last year's English class. We were doing this "poetry competition" type thing, and we were given these really weird metaphors and similes that we had to turn into poems. Hence, "People are like windows" lol. And I'm glad you like it
