I don't totally agree with Pussy Riot's tactics, but at this point any protest, any at all, against a madman and a corrupted church who are destroying Russia and will destroy all of Europe if given a chance, is desperately needed.

You must be not so much informed about this stuff so this is why this art looks not so much true and symbols are totally wrong.
It is not a sign of great minded person to act like a beast naked in front of praying grannies no matter where and no matter what religion they prey. If one is not respecting old people and theirs traditions (even if they are not right) this should not be positioned as Rebel or good will act but it is actually a uneducated and degenerated individuals corrupted minds reflexes. Any good willing person just needs to be tolerant to any human being and that is the only key to peace. Just imagine your or your friends grandmother or else of your friend being in church who could be forced to witness some stupidity like Pussy Riot did that day. For example when they did the same act in France all mainstream media was so against them and society asked to isolate those chicks..but every one just wants to blame Putin just because of meantime political climate. I am Anarchopacifist and I live just next to Russia and I know what I am talking about. You are great artist and I like a lot of your arts but I suggest you to self educate about serious themes a bit deeper before you post anything.

I completely agree with you. p.r. (they don't really deserve to be even spelled from capital letters) are like anarchists. I wish they were kicked from Russia. Nobody needs them there. They are just a tool for USA and EU countries to put more people against the president. But it is always like that. Once the head of the country is hated, then he is taken out by his countrymen and others can do what they will with this country. History repeats. A tzar, back when England was number one, was their target. They had enough power to buy the countrymen against him. Rumors, but they all have origins. They needed it badly so the tzar was murdered and the problem was solved. This country of theirs had been great and was prone to greatness countless times, long before it was called Russia. Archaeological findings, infamous lies put by Germany, Sweden. This country always drove power-greedy, money-greedy foreign elites mad. Pussy riot is just another tool to do the same thing to achieve the same thing. Putin is no saint, but to be honest, I don't hate on him. I don't see why I should. USA if you watched ''dirty wars'' documentary is notorious for using dirty tactics. And now hell in Ukraine supported by US is all fine. We just call it Putin's propaganda. No other propaganda exists. You see? put the world against him to achieve the big success. But the success in reality is to hurt and destroy that country. I have a lot to say, but I can never look past this crazy dirty injustice. I can never close my eyes on people being stupid enough and lazy enough, not educated enough to search for answers. There are so many crazy things involving that country and how it been always pushed, how it resisted, etc. But nowadays no one cares. President says they are aggressive, we believe. Aggressive portrait of that country is the result of our ''leaders'' works and their predecessors. Democracy is just a cover up for doing crazy stuff abroad. I knew some things, then I got lucky and now I know a lot of stuff that NEVER is talked about in any of the colleges, in any of the schools that I been to. And that involves a lot of countries. Got fluent in several languages, pursued my desires and now I see how screwed up our ''leaders'' are. Educate yourself or one day you will be called to war. They will say you are the good guys, but are you, really? So much crap is coming up to this day from exceptional USA, and EU. You dudes got a lot to catch up to. There are plenty of facts here and there. You just need patience and desire. Then you will find them. Not under one roof, though (and that is a good thing, 'coz too many valuable books on history disappeared through ages). We know history wrong. Some of it is right, but it's been up to this day still tempered with. Educate yourself and quit believing everything you hear. Quit being good sheep!

I'm from Russia and I agree with the picture. Putin is bad, and Pussy Riot did fight for the right thing. Only their ways are far away from perfectness. But then again, the time of Decembrists is gone. Russians are indifferent to injustice and something like Pussy Riot is the best we have today.

Some years ago I would have supported them. Meanwhile I changed my opinion - I think many russians are a bit naive and idealistic about what is happening in western Europe and the US. If they would know more about it, they would consider russian politics differently. I mean, you cant compare Russia under Putin with Russia in the Soviet Union or under Jelzin (it was a disaster). The living level grew enormously in the past years and its not true that there is absolutly no freedom of speech. The radio station "Echo Mosvi" for instance critisizes the government alot, so does "Telekanal Dozhd" and many others.
What P.R. say about the russian church is absolutly true - there should be a division between the church and the state. But in many EU countries (like Poland for instance) its the same as in Russia and in Saudi Arabia its even worse. And you never really hear about it in the western media. In my opinion Pussy Riot is a big hype also because the media benefits from "selling" this story, so its sort of populist... The girls are tough, pretty and sexy - a good story to make money with. How often did the western media write about Bradley Manning who was condemned to 35 years of prison and had even been tortured? Or about Megan Rice?
It would be good if the girls from P.R. try to learn more about how western politics and economics work to be able to compare and extend their point of view. I dont want to dismiss them - they ARE brave girls. But I shared similar opinions until I realized that there were lots of things I didnt know about. And it must be said that in Russia it's considered sort of good manners to critisize the own politicians, so people in the western countries might get a wrong impression.
I think you´re doing a great job, I love your work and the stories behind it - you are choosing interesting themes!
